We should forget about Sheff W and Plymouth 22:22 - Mar 15 with 1677 viewsMancBlue86

Our targets to hunt down now are Oxford (aslong as we beat them) Sunderland and Wycombe

We need to beat Plymouth to stand a chance surely?

If you look at the form for the last 10 games, Oxford’s is the same as ours (both amassing 19pts) and we’re giving them an 8pt head start too with 8 games to go!

We don't need to worry about who any team is. We need to chase down 6th whoever that ends up being (hopefully, but unlikely, us). The way to do that is accumulating as many points as possible.

If Sheffield Wednesday draw their game in hand, they are ahead of Sunderland by 1 goal on goal difference. There is no certainty that they will end above Sunderland.

‘Our’ target is the back of the net. If they score goals they’ll win games. Everything else depends on other clubs dropping points

Table could look very different in two games time let alone 8. We just need to win games and see where it takes us. Teams above us are going to drop points as there are still several 'face offs' between them to come. It is looking likely 80 points could be needed though, which gives us pretty much zero room for error.

Agreed. A lot of mystic megs on here that seem to know where and when the play off dream will end.

How about we take it a game at a time and see where we end up?

There are no targets to chase down - we just need to do our job, which realistically is accumulate as close to 20 points as we can get over last 8 games and see where it takes us

Why should we forget about a team we play in 10 days?

It'll be a lot less painful (or far more thrilling if it happens) if we accept the play offs have gone. We've left too many points on the pitch and we're placed where we deserve to be. Just have to hope we can maintain our run of form and take it into 22/23.
