i must say the standard i expected a bit better not just from Our girls but West Ham are super league but i wouldn’t cross the road to watch this sort football seen better lads games across the park ,I would say half decent Sunday league pub side would beat these sides.
Don’t get the hype of tv coverage of WSL.

I wonder what we’d all say if we watched a games with you playing in?

No the standard may not be as high as your used to if you watch the mens games (with the exception of teams coached by Pauls Hurst, Lambert & Cook) but they are a very young very experienced Ipswich team who have made it into BBC for the biggest games of their lives so far.

I wouldn’t criticise, I’d just say COYBs!

I've nothing against the women's game, and as you say it's a different game to men's football. I personally choose not to watch it but I hope that they do well and am glad to see the club investing in the team.
I just wish we could keep it seperate to the men's game in the podcasts etc. as I'd rather hear about our u18s and u23s than the women's team as those players are more likely to have an impact on the men's team.
I fully understand that people are trying to raise the profile of the women's team and I think that is a good thing, however there seems to be a bit of culture developing where anyone who isn't interested in the women's team is painted as some kind of misogynist or isn't a true ITFC fan.

Sadly, as it is an area I have a huge interest in, we get very little engagement on anything u23 and u18 related - and also until the club open up the facilities for fans to watch these games there’s not much to say as it is

Watch the women's Euros this summer. You'll see some absolutely top quality football I guarantee you. Today's game was a bit scrappy, we couldn't get our game going at all, but hardly surprising against a WSL team. We looked well organised defensively and that was hugely encouraging.
Saying you don't want to watch women's football because it's rubbish is a bit like a Man City or Chelsea fan saying they don't watch League One football because it's rubbish. Just insulting for the sake of it.

For someone who "wouldn’t cross the road to watch this sort football", you not only watch a lot of it, but proffer your opinion on it very frequently.

You posted about how poor women's football is before.

You persist in watching and telling us how poor it is and that you wouldn't bother watching it.

Hmmn.

That's fair enough and your choice. You didn't start a thread to say how dreadful all women's football is because of that and the fact that you will go out of your way to not watch it ... and then post the same a few months later because you are still watching it!

My comment was directed specifically at Bobsthename.

Do not normally comment on things like this but wanted to say I completely agree with you.

Watch a lot of non league football. The standard may not be as good but I've seen some cracking games over the decades that will stay in my memory just as much as most Ipswich games.

For me I'd watch a game of football whatever form or level it is played at. Simply because I love the game itself . But I do understand why people may not.

Nope. Didn't look back at all. It stuck in my memory as it was as stupid then as it was this time.

"I don't watch it but I must tell everyone how rubbish it is". If you were consistent with what you say, you wouldn't watch it and then there would be no need for you to tell us that it is rubbish.

You are consistent but it is not a compliment!

The all-conquering USA women's football team lost 5-2 in a friendly against FC Dallas U15 boys. That puts the standard of women's football in perspective. It's never going to gain a meaningful paying audience while there is so much opportunity to watch men's football.

you could just as easily say "league one football's never going to gain a meaningful paying audience while there is so much opportunity to watch the premier league"

I can't help wondering if he's old enough to have seen ManU 9-0 ITFC in 1995.

Am guessing not, cos if he had, he'd surely be so appalled at our awful standard back then that he'd never have bothered to watch us play again!

To be fair, his consistency on "never watching it again" means around 3 months maximum.

I can be fairly sure to expect another thread like this from him after the next reasonable profile women's football match on TV (even if it is via the red button on one of many channels he could be watching instead).

Good point that, took a helluva lot of effort to locate & navigate to it for most people - so for someone who says the standard's so abysmal it's not worth watching...!

Edited to add - and his pattern of downvotes remind me of a former poster on here ... 😂

It's possible it was another idiot with a similar name. If it was, I make no apology as it may as well as have been you! No need to look it up!

Enjoy the next time you decide to tell us how rubbish it is after you haven't watched it again, though.

Loving the ganging up bit with your buddy but i can remember that game i’m guessing you like to dig people out as well, It’s my opinion yet you gang up like i have shot someone you could at least tell me why i’m not allowed to go against the grain.
Please tell me why i’m not allowed to dislike women football when it’s plain to see it’s rubbish it’s a football opinion on a football forum should put myself on leave for you ?
I’ve done nothing wrong even if like you say i’ve said this before.

There's no ganging up any more than those supporting your view are "ganging up" either. Fairly sure this was the tack you went down when you were criticised for taking the time to make your view known previously too.
