i must say the standard i expected a bit better not just from Our girls but West Ham are super league but i wouldn’t cross the road to watch this sort football seen better lads games across the park ,I would say half decent Sunday league pub side would beat these sides.
Don’t get the hype of tv coverage of WSL.

Fair enough. I look forward to you never watching it again and never telling us that it is so poor any more. Must have been another poster who did so.

Apology accepted.

Loving the ganging up bit with your buddy but i can remember that game i’m guessing you like to dig people out as well, It’s my opinion yet you gang up like i have shot someone you could at least tell me why i’m not allowed to go against the grain.
Please tell me why i’m not allowed to dislike women football when it’s plain to see it’s rubbish it’s a football opinion on a football forum should put myself on leave for you ?
I’ve done nothing wrong even if like you say i’ve said this before.

You're not obliged to like women's football but you don't have to be actively disrespectful towards it. Why is this so difficult for you to understand?

"i’m guessing you like to dig people out as well,"

Which is literally what you've done in your OP. Digging other people out.

And what everyone has been telling you throughout the thread.

It takes for you to feel victimised to see it.

"Thought it would of been decent..."

Have been decent, not 'of'.

You're not a child, learn your own language.

We should start threads about how you can't spell, use grammar, or even use the most basic punctuation expected of a ten year old.

Or would that be different because it's poor old you?

Why on Earth would you need to? If you're not into it, don't watch it?

To be fair this is the first time the OP has watched it so he wouldn’t have known whether he liked it or not until he watched it.

I cannot imagine why anyone would go out of their way to be unkind to a team representing our club with pride and honest effort. I just don't get it.

Down votes are people really naive to think it’s a good game and good standard?
Please enlighten me as to what the hell you lot are watching that i can’t see?

I am watching a game played by women that will inspire other young girls to kick a ball and play too. With over 50% of the population female it's great to see.

Not as if the mens' game had a 160 years' head start on the womens' game or anything though is it?

Actually pre WW1 the Womans game was thriving, Lots of women’s football games in the early 1900s actually attracted bigger crowds than the majority of men’s games in the Premier League today.

The FA were worried that the popularity of the women’s game would take punters and money away from the men’s game. So, on 5 December 1921, the FA issued a ban, saying that no member clubs could let women’s teams play in their grounds, effectively sidelining the women’s games to parks.

It’s been described by some as one of the biggest sporting injustices of the last century. Thankfully it is now flourishing and growing at a decent rate.

Really interesting, didn't know that (or had forgotten, as a few bits of recollecting grey matter are now starting a friendly kick-about somewhere in my nut!) - thanks 👍

Worth having a read about the Dick, Kerr Ladies F.C. team - and then looking as to some of the reasons why the suits banned it.....things like protecting women as playing would cause infertility etc......obviously all decided by old white blokes

No probs, wouldn't expect you to remember (Obviously should have involved Facters as he could redact stories..) Was chatting with my old man at the weekend about it, quite incredible how big it was, and obviously a shame what happened.

There was a player called Lily Parr who played over 800 matches and scored 1000 goals for the unofficial England team at the time.

The all-conquering USA women's football team lost 5-2 in a friendly against FC Dallas U15 boys. That puts the standard of women's football in perspective. It's never going to gain a meaningful paying audience while there is so much opportunity to watch men's football.

I mean, that was 5 years ago and wasn't even a proper friendly, it was misreported. It was basically a kick-about so this a nothing comment.
