Tbh. The OP was made as you and others felt that I follow was stealing from the club. The article shows how its not. I was helping you and others to understand that. It's a good article and shows the benefits of I follow and financially its been very profitable for the club.

I'm not sure why anyone is arguing against the point now tbh, especially when the main argument against it is that it would reduce attendances, and the evidence of last season clearly debunks that.

The reduction of attendances was always the argument against streaming but having had a look at it via the midweek games clubs have discovered it hasn't had the impact feared, hence the push to stream Saturday afternoon matches as well.

Stealing from the club I thought on 07:08 - Jul 19 by Ely_Blue | Let’s all sit at home on Saturday afternoon and watch it then shall we? Solve climate change & keep a few extra quid in our pockets for some beers and presents for the kids? What do you think would happen if we all did this? Why do you think the 2-5pm blackout exists for football matches on Saturday afternoons in this country? |
This argument is full-on, 100% weird. I watch iFollow all the time because I have two kids who are too young to go to the footy, I definitely can't wangle having most Saturdays off childcare duties just to go to the footy, and in any case I live in London so I think getting the train, plus all the spending there every other week would actually bankrupt me. And you're arguing you'd rather I didn't watch iFollow instead? I hate to say it, but there's something monstrously tinpot about that opinion. While bigger clubs are off trying to cultivate fanbases on the other side of the world, you're losing your rag about people watching Ipswich on TV. [Post edited 19 Jul 2022 15:40]

It's just the latest guise of 'I go to more games than you so I'm a bigger fan' dressed up as something new. It has always been thus.

^ Abuse reported? Blimey. Would love to hear the reasoning behind that.

Stealing from the club I thought on 20:39 - Jul 18 by Ely_Blue | So you pay £110 a year for iFollow plus a vpn fee? Any idea how much of that £110 goes to the club? I’m betting it isn’t anywhere near what you actually pay |

He's been pushing this for ages. At least he's finally stopped calling it a 'dodgy' stream. I think he [and one other] had got a bit confused as to how this works but are too embarrassed to say so, preferring instead to double down and keep deflecting.
