Kemi Badenoch - MP for Saffron Walden 12:09 - Jul 19 with 3585 viewsBonneNIL

Easily the most far-right political candidate in my lifetime, and soon to be our Prime Minister as she's leaps ahead with their Members. Worked for Boris Johnson after leaving Uni, hacked a Labour website, then claimed not to have, was co-opted onto London Council without an election, then given the Saffron Walden seat after the previous MP was kicked out due to being old. The ultimate careerist as well as populist. Guido Fawkes loves her.

She claims to have thrown her own husband off of the Parliamentary candidate's list to maintain standards but green-lit the sex-offender Wakefield MP while running Party HQ. How bad is her husband then? Maybe when she was approving members, she had allowed the Britain First mob to be filtered in as potential supporters? I remember Tommy Robinson claiming to have joined after Boris was made leader... it stinks. The Conservative Party is now right of UKIP.

She was recently caught out claiming to be in the constituency canvassing for the support of Boris Johnson, but was in fact at home in Wimbledon, once this was found out she had all the social media comments deleted. Her Association has approved of her living in London, when local residents have asked for support on local issues, they have said she's not the Citizens Advice and doesn't have to respond. Even as a candidate for Prime Minister, she is already saying she expects her cabinet to do her work for her. Told her selection meeting she voted Leave, but tells others her and her husband voted Remain in London. So which is true?

Although she is popular in the south of her constituency which is closer to Braintree and Chelmsford than Saffron Walden, her local Tory Councillors have all been wiped out by Lib-Dems and Residents groups she does so little for her party there.

She is by far the most dangerous UK politician in our lifetime, I would urge everyone to write to their Tory MP and tell them NOT to back her. Although I have a feeling Tom Hunt will be backing her hard.

Part of the problem with her is that she speaks quite well, sometimes even in non-politician.

Does she ?

I heard her in a long interview on lbc the other night and she went down a storm with the listeners (who aren't as guaranteed to be righties as they once were). I had to agree she spoke well - she even managed to backtrack on the cutting schools staff thing, although not entirely convincingly.

Has anyone ever looked at their own postings for last day or so? Oh my... so sorry. Was Ullaa

Well i haven't seen that interview so i cant comment on that specifically.

She's been very poor in the debates. She seems very low energy (they all do) doesn't really come across as passionate about anything unless its Trans people. This reputation of her being a great, no nonsense speaker preceded her. I'm yet to see it. If she gets through at 1500 i may have a look at the LBC interview.

Regarding the United Kingdom's colonial history, Badenoch has argued that "There were terrible things that happened during the British Empire, there were other good things that happened, and we need to tell both sides of the story".[58]

Yeah, and Hitler built some roads.

What Kemi forgets in all its glorious irony, is that the "British Empire is great" narrative was the only narrative for decades, so when she talks about "both sides of the story", she inadvertently means "all the bad stuff".

LBC is no way for righties - it's becoming left wing Arizona, I listen to it at all hours

I don't really care what the presenters views are - left or right, as long as they don't pick and choose only the calls that agree with them - which unfortunately a lot have the habit of doing.

Who's your favourite host?

They've got a good range these days. I'm starting to quite like Ian Dale (not for his political views - just a decent listen)

Ian Dale is ok.

I generally have Steve Allen on from 4am but I listen to that whilst i'm still dozing - he's just a bit of a gossip professional talker about nothing but it's easy listening when you are snoozing.

I then listen to Ferrari at 7am followed by O'Brien at 10am. O'Brien is interesting but he tends to only field callers who agree with him and I find him very patronising and very black and white - in fact since Brexit and his book launches he has become a parody of himself and has a habit of being a bit knobish.

Evening shows depend on what I'm doing

Swarbrick is a good listen but he tends to move slots a bit

Ian Payne also ok

They aren't quite as far along the route for Independence as the SNP but maybe Scots' Independence will just be the first domino.

I know Canvey probably isn't the most diverse place in the world (although there is an Orthodox Jewish community that moved out of north London) but all of those people look pretty much exactly like you'd expect them to.
