Yeah looks a bit naff. Looked a lot better before, and was only done in 2018.
Maybe should’ve kept the same theme but with a few new updated pictures of the current squad once we’d played a few games this season.

Can see why they want to do something different to the basic picture of a crowd or images of the 1978 Cornhill celebrations, but it does seem strange to have images of current players, or soon not be in Penney's case.
I too would have waiting until we have some thing to celebrate and have those images - at least it then stays relevant for the season even if that player moves on.
From a cost and sustainability point, they can't expect to keep changing it throughout the season - that is about 10k in vinyl and fitting there. Rather they spent that on catering/ticket office staff. |  | | |

I get it, it's not public facing, its more for the players benefit. Psychologically we want the players feeling 8ft tall when they step out on to the grass and I guess these are just designed to massage the egos a little prior to kick off. As well as a little intimidation of the opposition, if you can call it that. I know what I would be saying to our players if I were in the opposition side though 'what the f*** are these? you lot look ridiculous'. [Post edited 28 Jul 2022 11:15]

It’s not really stick though, is it? Not yet anyway. More bantz than stick. I admire his energy and purpose and drive for our club, even if he’s a bit Brent. And he should have saved the high-fiving of fans for when we achieve something, not beating Lincoln. | |
