Better get used to…. 22:32 - Aug 9 with 1249 viewsstarofanglia

Teams putting 10-11 players behind the ball. Will happen a lot at home this season and we’re going to need to find a way of breaking them down.

Tonight, again, we created enough chances to win the game.

Breaking down teams isn't the issue. Converting chances is.

We have become predictable in that the chances we do create are largely the same, Ball down the channel, pull back to edge of the box. We need to find other ways of scoring. We don’t get dangerous crosses in, get the ball into the striker and learn how to shoot from distance. We have the ability to get in behind but when teams sit deep that isn’t an option.

There in lies the problem. Scouts watching us will have a field day. My concern as such was last season is that if we Don't accrue points early days then can anyone see us put a run of 5 or 6 wins together.

Whist a agree with McKennas assessment of the game he could have left out the comment about other priorities as this could add fuel to the fire. Supporters are quite frankly fed up with years of endless cup failure. Especially as the Colchester will feed of this for years. Given that mk Don's defeats were to cambridge away and Wednesday at home, anyone who thinks 3 points is a gimme are seriously deluded!

are you aware that the first 11 are much better than the 11 that played lastnight?

It happened most of last season and we couldn’t overcome it then. Desperately need a clever striker.

Well, we scored a pretty good goal from distance on Saturday unless my memory is shot. There are things to work on, it's very obvious, but some of the hysteria is a bit much.

Not forgetting the fact that we must have had 10, or more, corners yesterday evening and didn’t score from any of them. Thought we were supposed to be working on that. We also don’t run into the box, with the ball at feet, increasing the chances of gaining a penalty.

Last seasons problems haven’t gone away.

It must be hard work trying to be the voice of reason all the time.

I left last night frustrated as hell, mainly about missing chances, Colchesters sh1thousing and our record in the cups.

I didn't analysis the rest of the season based on this cup match

We simply still don’t convert enough chances, just like last season. For me the worry then and now is we seem to require 284573649594733 shots to score and most teams score with their first shot
