Market reactions. 08:17 - Sep 28 with 3018 views | BanksterDebtSlave | This is definitely not a post in support of current government policy but.... Surely if all we ever guage proposed radical changes to the norm by is market reaction then all we will ever get is more of the same. And more of the same is definitely not what most people on the planet or the planet itself need.

Market reactions. on 14:49 - Sep 28 by The_Flashing_Smile | Well said on too childish and too tribal. My dad's a lovely fella and not stupid, but I know he'll vote Tory at the next election despite all this - because they're his 'team'. He's scared of Labour because they fooked the economy in the past... but I'm sure he won't be bothered by what the Tories have done to it now. It's like a football team, you don't change and you hate the others. I suspect there's a lot of older voters like that (they must be the last people propping this lot up, but unfortunately there's a lot of them). |
My mate wont hear a word said against them. He said this morning all the fault of the BBC and the Unions and things would be much worse under Corbyn or Starmer. You couldn’t make it up. He does follow Chelsea. I’ve known him since my teens - god knows how. My dad’s the same (not the Chelsea bit). It’s the Unions. Oh well.

Market reactions. on 10:54 - Sep 28 by nrb1985 | The people who the government have asked to fund their ludicrous borrowing aka "the market" |
Exactly. You cant ask to be lent money and then be upset that the people who have lent it to you have an interest in whats going on - and a voice / action if circumstances change. You now have the stupid situation where people are selling off the gilts they hold so fast that the bank of England are having to buy them to make sure theres a buyer and it doesn't crash completely. I'd dump the pair of them in a heartbeat. I know it's hard with family but feck it. Edited: just to be clear I wasn't suggesting you attack them! [Post edited 28 Sep 2022 17:44]

Ahh, but my mate is my mate isn’t he. You know how it is, but I get your point. My dad? Yep, agree, but my dad is just that and we are nearing the end so…well….you know. I’ve a couple of other chums who support the tories to the end of time. I guess I’m just cursed.

Millions of people have their “Team” and won’t sway under any circumstances, that’s a given. Manifestos are a bit like begging letters and rarely get activated. I tend to look at the leader of the party first and foremost before deciding who to vote for. I am naturally conservative thinking but I didn’t vote in 2019 and I think I spoilt the last two election papers before that. There is no way I could vote for Truss though and the fact that she is PM is just bloody mind boggling. I don’t think I could spoil my paper either right now as Ipswich will be tight, I think Starmer is a bit of a tvvat if I’m honest but I would have to vote Labour as it stands right now.

Market reactions. on 06:11 - Sep 29 with 308 views | ElephantintheRoom | Well you simply have to gauge who you think is right. Two startlingly inept lightweight politicians promoted way above their capabilities - or the IMF and every sane economist on the planet. These suicidal changes were flagged months before they actually happened giving every world market plenty of time to flag the betting no-lose opportunities appearing like ripe cherries in front of their eyes. In the UK they even had their bonuses uncapped to turbocharge the demise of Sterling. The other thing to factor in is that the government acknowledged the collapse in the NHS and care system and promised to increase taxes to paper over the cracks. Now in a U-turn of devastating impact yet more massive funding cuts are on the way as winter approaches… So no. Not under any circumstances can this be considered anything other than the most expensive political suicide note in history.

The things about right wing populism, especially when it gets strong media promotion - see Daily Mail, Express, Sun, etc Is that it gives a voice to people who are talentless, morally bankrupt and critically not for fit for purpose for public office or to steer public opinion. Trump is the personification on steroids, cheap sound bites to rile opinion but zero competence or decency behind them - driven into power by Fox News and hate speech Brexit was right wing populism and that out in a chain of events that ends with Truss and people driving our beloved country will no clue There were talented and competent Tories, but they were all Remainers, then you had to be a Boris toady… The weird pamphlet Truss, Kwarteng, Patel wrote should have warned anyone of voting for them! But the right wing media frankly push this weird agenda as well and their backing of Trump in recent weeks starts to look really weird. We need to take a long look as a nation as to why we basically ignored all sense all expert opinion, and a majority voted Brexit. The trail leads to media barons in offshore tax havens. Don’t buy the Mail, Express, Telegraph, Sun… and definitely ignore Talk TV, GB news… which we should actively protest again. When Hartley-Brewer is asked to host a Tory leadership hustings and debate… we should have all been freaking out. That Farage still gets attention is shameful. [Post edited 29 Sep 2022 6:47]
