So little composure compared to Woolfy

I was born underwater, I dried out in the sun. I started humping volcanoes baby, when I was too young.

Why did he start?!

Woolfie injured?

Rotated out seems to be the common consensus. He's only been left out of the first XI in the league once before today since McKenna took over.

I don't know what game people have been watching. Keogh played very well especially in the 2nd half. Very good and commanding.

It was his first league start in a while so it took him most of first half to get going and did very well afterwards.

Wouldn't mind him starting again next week.

He's barely played a game though. In the end we were able to give him a run out in a game where we got three points away from home. Match fitness is very important but maybe this highlights the work Woolfenden and Edmundson do with the ball.

I suspect Woolfenden will return for Lincoln, and Keogh will start at Cambridge on the 18th.

My comments were only based on what I had seen, he could do a good job for us , but looked out of his depth for a large proportion of the game..

Agree. First half wasn't great, but 2nd half was immense and really grew into the game.

He's a way off of match fitness but in terms of a squad player, he's an excellent option to have and brings a. Wealth of experience... As he showed 2nd half.

Was he getting close to a Toto performance?

In fairness, McKenna hasn't rotated the back line before. The only previous unenforced change has been down to Edmundson looking a bit flat and being replaced by Burgess.

Hi mate. Just back from the game. Must have looked different on the box because the general consensus in the stand was that was was very good.

He won everything in the air out himself in the way of the ball and never stopped talking and marshalling the rest of the defence.

True perhaps that's why he decided it was time . Several times KM has said its a long season I will need to use all my squad .

Bang on Glassers ! Nice to see you today.

The whole defence was in a bit of chaos in the 1st half in all honesty.

Second half a different story particularly Keogh. He was very impressive indeed. Really commanding.

Second half thought our defence looked sound. Morecambe caused us problems first half but second half we looked far more solid, Keogh was a big part of that.

He was a key part.

Richard Keogh made Cole Stockton look useless in the second half.

Yes that Cole Stockton whom some TWTD football experts have been admiring in the last year or so. Has Stockton scored a goal for them this season?

As GlasgowBlue has said Keogh's name have been chanted throughout today. Very, very commanding and impressive today.

Clearly a few people disagreeing with my post.

It's worth pointing out that I posted this 15 minutes into the second half, and at that point I stand behind my comment. Keogh looked very hesitant in possession, and not especially convincing defensively. The first half in particular validates that view - and the fact that we often looked stretched against what is a pretty poor team was pretty clear.

All that said, he did clearly step up in the last half hour, when Morecambe started going pretty direct and Stockton was a general pain in the backside.

As I made clear, this wasn't meant as an opinion that Keogh isn't good enough, just that it was a noticeable downgrade from Woolfy at the point I made the post. Keogh will do us more good than bad over the course of the season, I've no doubt about that.

Thanks for the passive aggressive response!

Was a simple question, he keeps a settled back line normally, just seemed a bit random when Woolfie is young, fit and playing well.

RIP Sir Bobby

I thought he defended ok, but was poor on the ball at times and nothing like Woolf or Edmundson when they can keep the tempo of our attacking up by intercepting and moving the ball quickly

He defended better in the second half, but very lucky that when he gave the ball away and they scored that the lino erroneously put his flag up as that was a stinker of a decision for Morecambe.

I'd imagine the player to come out of that with most joy was Luke Woolfenden who didn't play and had a nice rest, saw us pick up 3 points, and had his replacement not put any real pressure on him

I suppose the interesting observation is that Edmundson became our main distributor from the back, when normally it would be Woolfy. I also think we lacked our normal calmness at the back when in possession especially in the first half, and as a result we didn't build from the back as we usually do and so take the heat off us. But the good thing to take from it is we have four excellent centre backs

Stuart Watson seeing it completely differently.

“ Richard Keogh, having waited patiently for his league debut, was exceptional. His vast Championship experience was clear to see. He read danger, headed balls away and was ultra calm in possession.

McKenna described his performance as 'colossal'.
