Definitely "the finest" ever since I started going (in 1986). I always appreciated it as a nice dose of realism - while fans of other clubs blathered on about being the greatest, we knew we weren't quite that, but we did have an innate "fineness" that would forever set us apart. Always heard “finest” until about last season when some young lads seemed to be singing “greatest” . Assumed it was just because that’s the version sang by most other clubs and they didn’t realise Ipswich was different so surprised to read that some fans older than me thought that too. |  | | |

We've never been the greatest but we surely have been the finest. Anyhow that's what I have always known, always sing and will until I die. Finest football team the world has.... then just to be devilish... never seen.
