Not as bad as it could have been, but probably need someone in Jan to cover that time.

Big opportunity for Edwards, chance for Chaplin to play himself into form. Hopefully we will begin to see Aluko again soon.

Ffs just what we needed. We really do need new players in January, because this is worrying now

I think we'll go pretty strong on Sunday. For the most part we're picking up injuries from accidents rather than excessive workloads. We've been unlucky to collect a couple in cup games, but that's just happenstance. A few extra minutes in cup games isn't statistically very likely to make much difference to your injury record.

For years we've rested players for the cups, it's had negligible impact on our results and negligible impact on our ability to keep players fit and available.

13 days will have passed between Exeter and Fleetwood, so I think we'll want that fixture in the middle to keep momentum and keep everyone sharp.

I think there's a handful that I just wouldn't risk against such opposition. Walton, Morsy, Chaplin, Ladapo, Davis, Burns. For me they're non negotiables given they're either problem areas or just such key players where our cover represents a step down in quality. I would have 4 or 5 on the bench so we can stick or twist depending on how the game is going.

Where did you read TB12 was focused on toughening up legs?

As mentioned previously I don't really get what Tb12 is all about as there's different parts to it. But something I did see spoke of using restraint techniques over weights etc minimising gym usage etc.

I just wondered if that's correct and if it would potentially be a long term positive but potentially open yourself up to injury short term..

Just seems really convenient timing that we partnered with tb12 then lose half our squad to contact injury.

a niche perspective

I'd like to know if Harness had any % of injury going into the game like Ball did v Bracknell.

We also lost ladapo in warm up..

Is our High intense training to intense leaving players vulnerable in matches.

I wouldn't have thought either injury was something you could know in advance. Your knees can be perfectly fine and healthy, but apply enough force to them and things will go wrong.

Hopefully. Although it's unlikely he's going to be out for 10 weeks and slot straight back into a starting XI I would imagine. Would expect a couple of sub appearances first, not sure if that's factored into the timeline.

Honestly I love your positive spin but cartridge problems can be very unpredictable. Hope your right but I fear it will be every bit as long as the club are saying .

Balls was tho as he injured it v Charlton. Seemed a strange risk for something like bracknell.

I know in the older days players played with all sorts of injuries.. but with the squad levels as they are and the sports science available it always puzzles me when you hear of modern players going into games with injuries.

It's like Burns.. played alot of games last season through injury... are we now seeing the effects of him doing so..

Hladky's the cup goalkeeper, he'll certainly play.

We'll certainly rest Chaplin, Davis and Ladapo if there's anything to the injuries that kept them out of Tuesday Night. But they've not had any minutes since Exeter, so I think they'll be involved if they're good to go.

Hladky's the cup keeper, Walton won't play.

Burns and Morsy will almost certainly both start.

Don't think Ball was feeling enough on his knee post-Charlton for him to be concerned about it.

I think one of the realities of professional sport is that most players are feeling all sorts of minor discomfort in their bodies quite a lot of the time. If you stopped for all of it you wouldn't have much of a career left and if you scanned every little feeling of tightness, every ache and pain, you'd probably scan the players every day and it'd take up half your budget!

Pretty gutting, we finally get a backroom team capable of handling injuries and workloads properly and we end up getting a load of these kind of injuries.

We have a good squad but it's getting hit pretty hard right now, you'd hope that our rivals get a similar spell at some point but that's no guarantee. Gonna have to go big in January now.

Edwards seems a natural step into harness position, wonder if when Evans is back could see Humphreys push forward into harnesses role? He's got the technical ability, intelligent player.

That's what I was saying. Not that it's unlikely he'll be out 10 weeks, but it's unlikely he can be out for 10 weeks and then slot straight back in.

It's a blow innit.

Like us, Plymouth currently have injuries to 5 players (James Wilson, Finn Azaz, James Bolton, Conor Grant, Danny Mayor) and have 2 who are only just coming back (Mickel Miller, Macauley Gillesphey).

Dunno what Sheffield Wednesday's situation is.

Yup i should have read your comments with more care , as someone who had 2 of these both lateral and medial cartilage during my playing career i know how difficult these are to put behind you . But than again the success rate is much better and quicker than 50 years ago !

Was just an awkward twist. One of those unfortunate things that happen.
