I bought a pair of Quasar boots from there in the early 90s. A very short lived boot brand, endorsed by Gary Lineker, which were actually pretty crap.

I remember buying some high waist Oxford bag trousers from Jontys, huge hideous flared bottoms to wear with my DM’s, did nothing for my skinny legs, also stripy tank tops

Went down hill after Mintz and Davis disappeared, couldn’t get a Lyle and Scott or a Pringle Jumper anywhere then.

My favourite will always be the original Nicklebys, Crown Street, closed late 80s. I still have shirt I bought there, cost me a week's wages, still have it 37 years later and still fits. Great VFM

Thinking of shops from that era, Everybody's Hobbies was the one.

POTD.

You had Mannas Cafe on the corner near Red Eye; Tony Vaughan and Neil Thompson regular breakfast attendees there...

Red Eye now occupied by Glen Dale hairdressers; Glen arguably the nicest bloke in the world.

Is that the same barber Glen who was on Felixstowe Rd?

Punky sort.

I remember getting my clothes from Barnaby Rudge in Carr Street in the 1970s.

Felt I was grown up when I left John Waltons for Barnaby Rudge.
