Anyone won the Prem or champs league with Town yet?

I'm in 2033 and solidly a top7/8 Prem team. Have won the Europa Legaue once and the Championship in ten years. It's so difficult to break the top teams, Newcastle for example in the new season haven't conceded a goal in ten games FFS. I drew 0-0 at St James Park though!

What formation do you use and tactics? I've come back to FM after a couple of years away and finding it difficult to score goals.

You are Paul Lambert and I claim my £5

Ive been using a mix of 4231 Custom Gpress and 5212 custom Tiki Taka depends what you players you have.

4231 Gpress is the most reliable for me Especially in League one and the Champ.

I always thought CM 01/02 was the daddy of management games. I never had it myself, Championship manager 93-94 was my go to.

93-94 was great. As much as I hate to say it, there was always a bit of a rush to sign Joey Beauchamp and Lee Power. Both of which tore the leagues apart, Power scored something like 49 goals in one season.

Nii Lamptey was another go to.

I'm on fm20, I took Wrexham from non league to championship in 5 seasons, then it went pear shaped, and I left for West Brom, which was in a mess and I got sacked 5 games into new season.
Currently at Aston villa took them from 19th to 7th in 4 months, missed out on play offs by one point,

Debating to get 2023 but unsure if to get PC or ps5 version

I went up in second first season, play-offs the next. I won 3 of the first 4 games in the prem, the last one beating the scum. Since then I'm on a run of no wins in 12

I don’t think I’ll purchase another game until they’ve moved it on significantly. The feature releases this year are very underwhelming and the annual roll out seems to be taking its toll. Hopefully they’ll see sense and pause it for a little while so the next release is meaningful and they clear up the over bloated emphasis on data analysis and get back to reinvigorating the basics.

Indeed. It's long since stopped being a 'game' and is now 100% in sim territory.
For no apparent reason.

Long time reader first time poster etc etc

What is peoples secret/tactic for doing the stereotypical ‘won the champions league in 5 seasons etc’
Played FM for years and have had reasonable success in lower leagues but can never seem to do much better than be a paul warne/Neil warnock type manager in terms of struggling the higher up the pyramid I go
Even if I cheat and start a save with a top team I rarely do more than win a cup or two and finish top 6
Just wondered if there’s something obvious im missing

The key to long-term success is to start as Woking in the Conference.

Started on the PS5, free transfer of Gio Dos Santos and Cole Stockton signed in an act of just signing someone for the sake of it on deadline day. Chugging along nicely in league 1,top by 12 points and hitting Feb. Kyle Edwards and Chaplin my best performers and defence is solid.

I’m actually quite tempted to pitch an idea to them based on the old play-by-mail games. Sadly I suspect their shareholders are too entrenched and given there’s no real competition, any proposal would be rejected if it pivoted their model.
