Nice little stat in today's Times;
Ipswich Town, having also beaten Bracknell Town 3-0 and Buxton 4-0 this season, are the first team to record three-goal wins in each of the first three FA Cup rounds since Wigan Athletic in 1985-86 and the first to do so without a replay since Swansea City in 1970-71

Um, I hate to state the obvious but two of those teams were non-league.

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

Yes, which is why our manager who knows a great deal more about football than you has signed two strikers in the last two days.

In terms of whether we need a new striker or not those two games really don't count.

I think we can all agree that our strike force is sufficiently potent to handle non-league teams without addition.

Don't boil a kettle on a boat.

Broadhead is being announced soon by all accounts - played mainly in the 9 role by Wigan and Sunderland.

The striker debate always reminds me of the Man U stat around, do great goalscoring strikers make teams better.

Van Nistelrooy went to Man Utd for 5 seasons and had the incredibly scoring record of 150 goals in 219 games. Man Utd won the league only once in those five seasons. However, they won the league three years in a row before he came, & won the league three seasons in a row after he left. Man Utd, based on league titles, was better without an amazing goalscorer. The opinion is Man U changed their style too much to accommodate Van Nistelrooy.
The jury is still out but everyone is talking about Haarland breaking every Prem scoring record there is but even with all those goals they are 7 points behind Arsenal.

i suspect he will play a left side winger/ hybrid 10 role for us. Would be surprised to see him through the middle regulary.

Given rounds 1 &2 are for non league and lower leagues I'd be very surprised if other league teams haven't had 2 non league teams in those rounds. So yeah, I reckon its a note worthy stat - and just another marker of our improvement this season.

It really is crazy that we score so many goals and yet still our biggest need is a goal scorer!

Exactly my thoughts. I'm sure there will have been many L1 teams that have had back to back non-league oppo in the cup since 1971.

Poll: We recruit two strikers, one has to be Bonne or Wickham, who would you have?

When you consider the amount of chances that we do create you could argue that we do need additions to our strike force

Mighty oaks grow from tiny acorns.
Just think, come May we'll be the first team to have won every round of the FA Cup by 3 goals or more.
