Crikey. | | | |

Plymouth look a year ahead of us. on 17:12 - Jan 14 by Argyle_Fan | Lol really? In the first half we controlled much of the play and clearly targeted long balls in behind your centre halves, and it was working a treat. When we got the ball down we were every bit as good as you. Although I will say that Chaplin is a super player technically and some of the razor sharp balls in between your forward players was very impressive. Draw was absolutely the fair result. Not many sides will come to Portman Road and play as well as we did. There was no long ball 'style'. It was lots of targeted balls in behind your centre-halves. At the end of course it was much more direct. Cracking game and I think a draw was the fair result. [Post edited 14 Jan 2023 17:19]

Every attack we had in the first half we turn you and your player dragged us down. The ref bottled giving yellow after yellow. One was even a grab around the neck. You look like a side that will come straight back down.

I thought they fully deserved the draw.

Plymouth look a year ahead of us. on 17:40 - Jan 14 by HandsomeMike | We conceded a half chance and they scored a worldly. Realistically there is not much we could have done about that. Plenty of games this season we have dominated and not put teams away. This game was not the same, they are top for a reason and we were simply not good enough to beat them. |
Was not a worldie, absolutely massive deflection! We had the greater number of good chances and needed to be more clinical (Ladapo and Morsy first half and Harness hitting the bar second when he should be hitting the target). I don't believe we played particularly well and Plymouth were a good league one team, but we still deserved to win on balance of chances.

Yet we didn’t win. Not for the first time either.

Pretty well summed up fella. Good luck for the rest of the season.

They were not the better side, but nor we. Draw was a fair result. I don think you can blame us for not “putting it to bed”. Thought we played pretty well but so did they. We need to respect the fact they are at least as good as we are. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Plymouth look a year ahead of us. on 17:22 - Jan 14 by Stewart27 | You controlled the first half? That’s absolutely laughable. |
I just thought in possession we were better with the ball. I thought we were the side making the play in the game and the couple chances Ipswich had in the 1st half were off of bounces or slight mistakes as opposed to dictating the game. I thought the likes of Morsy and Evans (good players), were kept very quiet. Matete and Randell had the control there. And I thought our aggression off of the ball stopped you from playing. In terms of 1v1 battles, the likes of Davis and Burns had no joy (and I know they are good runners with the ball). But I just thought we matched whatever was thrown at us, and had Morsy and Evans firmly under control. 2nd half, I thought Ipswich started to shade parts of the game, but only very very slightly. Then we came strong at the end.

Very observant of you. The point being that Plymouth certainly were not any better than us on a off day and we've brought in some firepower to hopefully rectify problem over the rest of the season.

Plymouth look a year ahead of us. on 17:29 - Jan 14 by Nthsuffolkblue | If that is their measure of controlling a game and compare it to those matches we have controlled, it says something about our ability to control matches. We just need to learn to put more of them to bed. |
As per my last post to the previous person - I thought we had Morsy and Evans controlled. They couldn't influence or dictate for that first half. Davis and Burns weren't able to beat their men on the runs. Chaplin was tightly marked. So I just think we had 'control' of the game - that doesn't mean we peltered you with shots or whatever else. But I felt our team had the command in the 1st and I think your centre backs struggled with our forward runners more than we struggled with what you threw at us. [Post edited 14 Jan 2023 18:18]

Very harsh. Wilson desrved a yellow after 2/3 fouls. Scarr could have maybe had one when Ladapo turned him in the 1st. But the rest was just standard contact. There were no outrageously obvious dirty fouls to suggest we should have had multiple yellows. 2 at the very most, and we had 1.

We weren't. But they were worse, offering very little except they must have heard we shut up shop very poorly at the end of a game.

Again, pretty much agree. How the hell your guy hit the bar from 6 yards out I’ll still never know either. We started to get some decent momentum second half until the long treatment in your penalty area which we didn’t really get back after the game restarted. Kudos to your manager also for going for broke bringing on extra strikers.
