I know he scored, so it won’t be the popular opinion, but anyone else think Burns has been completely off the pace lately? Frustrating to watch as often looks like he’s not really trying/sprinting (obviously is).

Also not really seen it mentioned that Morsy really struggled to influence the game. Do wonder whether we still need another there.

Burns final ball and crossing is absolutely awful. I really like him but he was awful before and after that goal Saturday. The abysmal crossing game after game is so frustrating.

Also I’m still not convinced about Morsy being as good as everyone else suggests. We scored 4 against Rotherham without him.

Your first paragraph is laughable.

Your second one has blown your cover.

I think he's been fine. For some reason people seem to have been willing him to be "off the pace" since game one this season, seems to have been an idea a few have been insistent on running with since August, not really sure how it helps.

Biggest issue on Saturday, in terms of a player's influence being stymied, was Davis not being allowed to get forward *at all*.

I disagree on Burns. He's still beating full backs regularly and putting balls in the box. He had one first half on Saturday basically on a plate for someone if they'd got themselves into the six yard box.

Not as good as he was last year, but the team was set up completely to complement him, that's not the case now. He also had Celina looking for him at every opportunity and I think he misses him. We don't offer anywhere near as much over the top anymore. Look at our goal in the same fixture last season, Celina's ball over the top to Norwood makes the chance.

He quite rightly looked totally pi**ed off with Freddie Ladapo on Saturday when he was 3 yards to Freddie's right, completely unmarked with an open goal in front of him, but Freddie decided to shot straight into Coopers hands.

Agreed, we've looked far less dangerous down the right since JD has stayed back more, and Burns has less space to attack.

I really don't get it, they had a great partnership down the right, with Chaplin joining in , Burns would often get in with a one two or JD taking away a man to give him more space. He must be getting told to stay back?

We've become quite reliant on Davis for our creativity, teams have worked it out.

Exactly this. Both paragraphs.

Burns has 6 goals and 5 assists - which makes him our second highest assister, and 3rd highest scored (according to BBC). He may well not be at the heights of last season, when our game was completely focused on feeding him, but the idea that we need to do better is daft.

Wouldnt say hes completely off the pace and his contribution in goals and assists is fine, but hes probably not so regularly involved as he was last season.
However, I didnt think he was particularly good on Saturday, especially defensively in the first half when Plymouth asked a lot more of us in that area than most teams do- thought there were a few occasions where he didnt seem to be covering as well as he might have done. Equally, he wasnt getting much joy up against them going forward.
I definitely think we need another option there as both KVY and Jackson are quite different styles of player, meaning it changes our approach if we want to sub him or if he has fitness issues (which is a definite concern). Thats easier said than done though as our system means hes a key player doing a fairly specific role.

I have to say, every time I've seen him he's been at a minimum fine, if not better. Always seems a threat.

People seem to have a downer on him but I think he's decent enough and threatens the opposition.

Yes the odd pass is not good, or cross, but we are in League 1!!!

Burns is well on his way to double figures for both goals and assists, this season.
His ball control is up there with the best players in the league.
On occasion he stalls his run... imo, expecting the underlap from a team mate. Instead of going at his full back, Most likely under instruction to do so.
And, yeah, he's had a few wayward crosses. So what?
I'd rather see him in the starting eleven, than to not be available. If he got injured he would be a huge miss. He's a massive player for us, who turns up time after time for the big games.
I hope he's managed to recover from whatever problem forced him off at the weekend.

Morsy is a solid 7 most games. A real workhorse imo. You know what you're getting with him. Mr consistent, Mr reliable. Hard to find players that show that level of consistency , week in, week out. at this level.
