We are just flat out of luck at the moment.
If we have a problem, it's this, and the one thing about McKenna that concerns me. We're one dimensional. The same formation, the same tactics, like for like substitutions for the most part.
Changes in personnel to not do anything to unsettle the opposition when the personnel are all playing exactly the same.
Sides come and stick 10 men behind the ball, and we've yet to find a way to play around it. We need to find a way to score early to open the play up. |  |

Indeed. Our problems are obvious and VERY frustrating but people are throwing out all kinds of 'solutions' that in no way address the issues we have. It's not easy to fix players missing chances as a manager, as you say, we've signed two forwards and hopefully that will help but they've barely played thus far. Our other issue is that Wednesday and Plymouth are relentless right now so if we don't immediately see our fortunes changing then automatic promotion is going to get away from us. |

But what’s the answer then? We’ve brought in Hirst and Broadhead to address that but the most either has played is 80 minutes over two games.

I’m just stating facts and saying that we have lost so many points due to our poor conversion rate of the chances created. The new players (Hirst and Broadhead) may be the answer, i hope so.
But we have not put teams away so many times this season that we may be so far adrift that the gap has become too big.
We dimly have to start taking more chances and also man up a lot. The first goal was pathetic, we seemed to have lost the art of tackling when the ball get near our box. |  |

You do realise that plymouth have had alot of incoming players. And derby who are now just 4 points behind us were a shambles in the summer

It's not luck, we are too reliant on having to get goals, as our defence hasn't been up to standard (for a top 2 finish) for a long time.
We kept 5 clean sheets in our first 8 games. We've kept 4 clean sheets in our last 19. Yeas, it would be nice to score more, but it isn't really the issue. |  |

The OP very much seems to be about us not taking our chances. For me that remains our biggest issue, that and conceding randomly when under no real pressure. |
That’s certainly a huge issue, but we are also too soft defensively. We have plenty of possession in games and invariably then the opposition score with their first attempt/attempts. The top sides in any division are normally very effective both ends of the pitch. This has been a concern for a while now. |  |
