Some great insights from the Trans Cultural Mindfulness Alliance.
claiming the song has already 'helped inspire acts of harm against transgender women.'
'There have been zero meaningful studies into the gender identities of pets,' one post published later in the day read, in which organizers told parents that children should be able to decide on their pets' gender.
'A period is a state of mind than an actual state of being,' the post went on to state, before stating that biological men who have transitioned 'can absolutely have periods and need free hygiene products.'
A tweet made by the "Trans Cultural Mindfulness Alliance" of Norway, a group that's sole presence seems to be on Twitter, and whose first tweet is exactly this. It got a weird amount of traction.
And somehow this one tweet by an organisation that doesn't really exist is worth a National Newspapers time. It's not like there is a campaign, it's literally just one tweet from an organisation that seems so out there you'd think they it could just be a parody.

Probably worth ignoring.
Was going to say something similar - very obviously a group just angling for reactions (successfully) rather than any lefty woke agenda at play.
I was born underwater, I dried out in the sun.
I started humping volcanoes baby, when I was too young.

All the more reason to suspect it's 'cunning' marketing. Presumably somebody made sure it came to the attention of the daily mail.

Even a cursory glance at their tweets indicates it's likely to be on the windup.
EDIT: Tweet was deleted, probably because it was too obvious but it said:
My eight-year old son, Jonah, came up to me this afternoon and asked me what a "shemale" was.
I immediately asked him where he heard that term and he told me it was on YouPorn.
TCMA is immediately calling on @YouPorn to ban the use of this harmful and outdated term.

After their original nonsense tweet they went out of their way to make sure it was seen by all the sorts of people who'd get pulled in by outrage bait.
Still, a nice example of national media can make movements seem much more extreme by only highlighting the outliers and / or mistaking parody.

I suspect the Mail is aware of that, but it never misses a chance to over excite its 'wokey cokey' readership, by giving them another example of how the country is being controlled by some sinister, malevelant force....who at this very moment are plotting to have the word woman expunged from the English language.
remember - you do not have to be paranoid the read the Daily Mail, but it does help
The Twitter account seems most likely to be a pisstake. And even if it's not, using a brand new Twitter account with no followers as a 'source' to claim people are trying to cancel Aretha Franklin is bloody ridiculous. The Mail needs to get in the sea. Shame to see some gullible folk have taken their bait as well.
