Parking at Cambridge on 10:38 - Jan 27 with 3925 views | Ely_Blue | Park and ride at Newmarket road and about a 15-20 minute walk is a good option, an alternative is Cambridge North railway station

Thank you - that looks sensible and good value. So are you suggesting a park, but don't ride - just walk from there?
Parking at Cambridge on 10:48 - Jan 27 with 3851 views | le2blue | For the cup game, we parked in the housing estate opposite the ground, had to drive to the opposite side from the ground, but was only a 10-minute walk along the river to the away end. Not sure if that changes with it being a Saturday game mind.

I've done this before - may be about 20-25 mins but the queue for a bus is a nightmare and there is so much traffic it is quicker to walk. Obviously if that length of walk is too much then the bus works it might just be a bit frustrating!

Plenty of parking on the road just off Newmarket Road. Don’t feel temped to park in the car parks of the DIY stores etc - you’ll get a fine.

Depending when you get there a bus to the stadium is fine but not even worth waiting for one afterwards - road is so busy and chaotic that it's far quicker to walk back up to the car and you have a clear getaway.

Yeah I’d suggest a park and walk, the traffic on Newmarket Road is a nightmare even at the best of times and that’s with bus lanes, on a football day it’s even worse

Parking at Cambridge on 12:04 - Jan 27 with 3595 views | Basuco | If you get there early enough, there is a grass area on Barnwell road that I used last time I went, that is left on the ring road at the Macdonalds roundabout, then immediately on the right. There is limited space but a shorter walk and easy exit as well, but you do need to get there early.
Parking at Cambridge on 12:38 - Jan 27 with 3492 views | Springfielder | Thank you all. This may be a stupid question, haven't used a P&R for a long time. If you just park and walk is it free?

They only charge for the bus ride, parking is free Check regulations though it might be you can only park there if you intend to use the bus. Seems strange that a park & ride close to a major road allows it, would be good place to meet up with friends and drive off together in one car.

IIRC the P&R sites in Cambridge now charge a (nominal) car parking fee, last time I used the one at Milton this was the case

Parking at Cambridge on 08:44 - Jan 28 with 3029 views | backwaywhen | Little industrial estate opposite ground , drive past ground ( on your left ) first set of traffic lights turn sharp right , as if your coming back on yourself , industrial estate 300 yards on your left , almost dead opposite ground ……..👠

You’ve obviously never driven in either direction on Newmarket road, let alone on Saturday when football is on

Parking at Cambridge on 21:57 - Jan 31 with 2696 views | Springfielder | Obviously I could google it but I'll ask on here instead. Is there a designated away fans pub? If not, any suggestions of pre game drinking spots? Thanks

I live in Milton, there’s no charge to park at the P&R for up to 18 hours.
Parking at Cambridge on 07:30 - Feb 1 with 2409 views | TractorWood | I'd suggest Chesterton. Anywhere near the Haymakers pub. Wander in from there over the green dragon bridge. Cracking pub as well. Thirsty on Mitcham's corner is a great watering hole. Banana leaf on Mitcham's corner is the best Sri Lankan food ever too. [Post edited 1 Feb 2023 7:34]

Cambridge Blue, Kingston Arms, Beer House, Thirsty, Punter, Haymakers amongst loads more a great pubs but not for designated away. I assume that's Wetherspoons miles from anything.
