He’s globally popular and invested a lot into the club, yet most posts I see seem to be negative about his music. Seems a bit odd really and I’m sure other clubs would love to have his support.

Why haven’t we adopted an Ed song? on 21:18 - Jan 27 with 2512 views
Can only speak for myself, but he doesn't have any songs I would want to proudly belt out. Maybe he does and I just haven't heard them. Either way, I'd rather we didn't, it's great to have his support and it benefits him too, but I don't want to become Ed Sheeran FC.
Duhh duuhh duhh duhhh duuuh duuurrrh I’m in love with a shade of blue Push and pull not a 442 We always follow you I in love with *******whatever to end :-)

I think we all love and value his support but his music is irrelevant. I guess the reason it’s not been adopted is because it’s terrible pop music by numbers for kids.

That's blunt, but also true. He seems a genuinely decent bloke, and I'm far happier having his support and sponsorship than some tawdry gambling website, but his music really isn't for me, and isn't something that I can see getting chants based around.
Just to add, this isn't meant to be a music snob post (though it prob is a bit!), but more just a reflection that a SBR stand full of blokes just isn't going to have that many Ed Sheeran fans in it.

I was born underwater, I dried out in the sun.
I started humping volcanoes baby, when I was too young.

Castle on the Hill is the one most adaptable to a football song particularly the referencing to "coming home"
As the song is about an exile returning to Suffolk, and as an exile myself, I find the song quite moving, but unlike, say, Sunshine on Leith which Hibs supporters have adopted it's not quite anthemic enough for a football song.
The song has been played before the game, or at least it was quite regularly last season.

The man has some tunes. His earlier stuff was better. the latter has definitely become more formulaic but his latest album had some good singles
Shivers and Bad Habits are both catchy enough.
As for an Ed song to adopt shape of you is the only option
Town you know I love this club, this club was hand made for somebody like me. Come on take the lead, come on now take the lead.

East to remember and true
Out of morbid curiosity I just listened (skipped through) those tracks on Spotify. I respect everyone’s right to an opinion on taste but for me, it’s the worst kind of music imaginable - it’s 21st Century Stock Aitken and Waterman.

Hibernian have embraced the music of their celebrity fans The Proclaimers and they're not exactly the coolest duo (see vid at bottom).
I don't own any Sheeran music and it's not for me personally but he's clearly very talented, headlined the Pyramid Stage at Glasto with just him and his loops and has written songs for the likes of Bieber etc. We're lucky to have him I think and Castle on the Hill is probably the only pop song about Suffolk that will reach hundreds of millions of people around the world. Quite like hearing it played before or after games.

That's harsh.
Ed is not styled or produced that way. He is a writer in his own right, no one from SAW was.
Look at early performances of some of early tracks, you need me, I don't need you- he did that on Jules Holland and he's looping everything back live, beats, riff etc. Rick Astley can't do that. He was doing that before anyone else, to me it's really punk in his ethos. Totally DIY
Yes as his career has developed he has become more of a collaborative writer which is what modern writing has become but his involvement is heavy in all of those songs. I'd say he's far more Bestles than SAW, donr tforget that in the 60s the beatles were Pop music and ai think Shivers is exactly the kind of thing they'd be writing now. He's had a huge impact on the way modern music is written and produced over the last decade.
Obviously the biz has changed and he has evolved since those early does, he has more access to, well everything a song writer could need but he IS a song writer.
It's the same with Taylor Swift or Adele they all started really doing their own thing and have subsequently as one might expect, turned into music biz goliaths who's music is, as I already said now somewhat formulaic jut there are still far more comparable to Joni Mitchell, James Taylor, Carly Simon, Cat Stevens than anything out of the SAW stable.
Now I dont love all of Eds, Adele's or Taylors music, I think the Beatles are overated TBH . I'd say each has a few catchy tunes, each as some utter dross and each has some that arent memorable but are inoffensive enough to make me turn the radio over and I can respect that each is a talented song writer and so worthy of a better comparison than SAWA. That's Justin Bieber, Little Mix, 1D etc.
I'd also say I think there are better singer songwriters Around atm. Paulo Nutini, Sam Fender, James Bay, Ben Howard, Birdie all spring to mind but still I think you're comparison us harsh

We could belt out a ballad though. Stoke belt out a Delilah and Forest Mull of Kintyre. Neither are toe tappers and are a bit cringy, but isn't that the point? Fat men in a crowd badly singing a ballad. At least it would be 'our song'.
