I know we can't control other teams' results, BUT 12:26 - Feb 21 with 6077 views | SamWhiteUK | it shouldn't be overlooked that a winning run from us puts pressure on Wednesday and Plymouth. Let's not underestimate the psychological factors. We know that if it was us in that position, we'd be looking over our shoulders and be feeling the pressure. I mean, hell, we've been there already this year. Let's take care of our own fixtures and that might well be enough to cause a slip-up above us

I know we can't control other teams' results, BUT on 12:37 - Feb 21 by Alphacentauri76 | Pressure on Argyle? I think you'll find it's all on the chasing pack and Ipswich are on their knees, play offs for you at the very best and you're certainly not good enough to win them. League One again for you I'm afraid. |
Christ mate. Your club has been getting some pretty rave reviews on here this season. The OP simply made a harmless albeit optimistic view from an ITFC point of view. You then come on here spouting this tosh. Why the arrogance? I hope you choke like you did last year. Will be very much enjoying the hunt now.

Our city is much larger than yours plus we have no direct competitors in our way, there is a lot to do to play catch up but the running of the club today I would suggest is better than most and currently we have one of the best managers around. |
"Currently" being the operative word here.

I know we can't control other teams' results, BUT on 15:15 - Feb 21 by Alphacentauri76 | I would say it's split on whether people are nervous or not. Last season we were nailed on for play offs but as you say we threw it away, but that was down to a paper thin squad where now we have around 30 pros and good rotation. I'm confident but you just never know do you? |
you don't, cooper will be a big miss. i think sheff wed are nailed on, and you're favourites for 2nd, but keep looking over your shoulder (and it may not be us you should be most worried about, some teams below us are on relentless form!) as long as you're 12-15 points clear with 5 games to go, I reckon you'll be alright!

I know we can't control other teams' results, BUT on 15:18 - Feb 21 by Alphacentauri76 | But despite these losses we are still winning, the back up keeper is doing just fine and scarr is a loss but we have replacements. I don't think we will fall away now, we haven't all season, you however have dipped badly but hopefully will pick up to stay in the race 😀 |
thanks, you have had dips though, your november form wasn't too hot was it? another one of those would be useful for us and the chasing pack! plenty of twists left, but i'd rather be in your position than ours

Well you didn’t win your last match Fleetwood at home, and your form isn’t great 9th in league 1 on a par with us in 11th. All set for a slide I would say 😉

I think it's always wise to show a little humility , compassion and to be better than the other man because you never know what when you might need something from those you pass on the way back down

I know we can't control other teams' results, BUT on 14:30 - Feb 21 by Westcountryblue | I wouldn't be so confident on Derby. They are on a hell of a run, but they have a paper thin squad. An injury to McGoldrick, Hourihane et al and they have to play kids. Will be amazed if they can last the distance. |
Just need Morsy to clatter DM early in the fixture then, how ironic would that be.

Wow, that told me. Bigggg club, no competitors, massive catchment area. The world is clearly your lobster. Given how big your ‘larger city’ is than a humble little town, why are your crowds so weak and feeble? You should have what, 30k maybe 35k beating down the doors of Home Park? Yet on the few occasions I’ve been it’s been just cyclops and his dog watching. Just curious since you’ve not tootled off. [Post edited 21 Feb 2023 22:36]

There's something a bit eccentric about the Devon brethren isn't there 😅! It could be suggested this is what happens when Plymouth sized clubs get a whirlwind season, they want to interact and share the excitement but there aren't enough of their own to satisfy their appetites.. yet we've had such clubs beat us numerous times in numerous seasons and I honestly can't recall an infestation like this green one before. It may soon be time to give them a little section of the board.

It’s very odd. If I was our funny little friend I’d be enjoying the moment, sharing it with fellow supporters on their website and in Home Park. But nope, let’s go on another club’s site and give it billy large covering it with ‘offering a view’. Weird. But then I know that part of the world a little. Nice place, strange people.

Loads of pressure on Argyle.. They are on their umpteenth throw of the dice, with a largely borrowed squad.. I do wonder what will become of them if they fail to go up...Echos of MKD, or Oxford, perhaps?

Devon is a beautiful county, though Plymouth is a bit of a hole. Probably the worst part of Devon. What the Luftwaffe didn’t smash up, the planners after the war did. Devonians are odd. The indigenous ones are not too bad, if hostile to outsiders. The outsiders who go to live there become more hostile to other outsiders than the locals! It’s a lovely part of the world but going down there, as I used to do when my parents lived there for a few years, you always felt that you were falling off the end of the earth when you got past Exeter. Totally agree, it's much the same your end though, I lived in Kings Lynn but both ipswich and Norwich are weird places but the locals were fine. Be nice if we could have a big club like Norwich though wouldn't it? [Post edited 22 Feb 2023 17:36]

Yes, it would. We of course envy everything about Norwich from its famous sherry loving owner to its wonderful, dinky little song (the oldest in the world). Great club. Everyone reveres them and wishes we could be just like them. Wiping away the jealousy tears (they’ve won the league cup a couple of times. We’ve not done that) Norwich population is about 141k. Ipswich is 139k. Plymouth 264k. Norwich av attendance is about 26k, Ipswich 24k. On that basis, Plymouth should be pulling in say 45k every week, yet your average is 15k. Why the apathy? I know they don’t go to Torquay. I’ve been there. You have the equal best team in the division by a distance so you should be packing them in.

Simply because we don't have forward thinking owners and never have, just tight fisted people who won't build upon the stadium

I’ve never seen catchment area used in a willy waving contest before. That’s quite endearing - I hope you enjoy your catchment area. It is a nice part of the world in fairness once you go further west.
