Not much love for Burns on the Sheffield Fans forum, or Ipswich for that fact

Has it occurred to them that Burns may have been asked by the FA Commission to write a letter, giving his view of the incident?

It occurred to one of them. Out of about 50 who contributed to the thread.

Its in the thread on our board , very clear video, no room for any doubt.

You mean the challenge for the header? I don’t see any evidence of a deliberate elbow there! You’re lucky you never played 75% of the game with 10 men so I’d quit bleating if I were you

Poll: Will you still buy a Season Ticket for next year in league 1

All football fans are delusional and blinkered when it comes to their club.

For instance, very few on here have mentioned that it shouldn’t have been a penalty.

If the officials had seen the whole incident properly, the correct decision would clearly have been a free kick to Wednesday, a yellow card to Burns for deliberately pulling back an opponent and then a red card to Johnson for retaliation.

Indeed, he was asked for a statement on the incident by the FA.

there is noting rational about a lot of the responses, this couldn't possibly be considered as won't fit the narrative to take responsibility for what MJ did.

Unbelievably blinkered views from what are becoming the worst fans in this league.

Had it been the other way around they would have been calling for a longer match ban for one of our players.

It's amazing how quickly it's forgotten that they were lucky to get a draw against us in the Hillsborough fixture because the assistant referee was too scared to flag for a blatant offside due to all of the coin throwing at the officials from their fans throughout the game.

Speaking of which, has anything actually been done by the EFL about the fan disruption during this fixture?

I think that's fair comment about the whole incident.

That said, the repeated suggestion on your forum that Burns was to blame for Johnson deciding to swing his elbow, is quite bizarre. He, who as it has already been pointed out connected with a straight-arm punch to Burns' head earlier in the game, could quite easily have derailed your season. Your supporters should be giving Johnson pelters, not Burns, and breathing a huge sigh of relief that he wasn't sent off early in the match. Johnson and your supporters have no right to feel aggrieved at the outcome.
