That's because we couldn't defend sadly, this year our goal difference is pretty healthy, we just have a freakish number of teams having great season

6-4 versus Crewe, with benny hill music. That season was such great fun, apart from the very end obvs. I was thinking before the match last night of the scoring similarities.

Flat track bullies who can’t beat the good teams.

Much like Sheffield Wednesday, who are W6 D6 L3 F19 A16 against teams currently in the top half and W16 D2 L0 F41 A6 against bottom half teams.

Or Barnsley W5 D3 L6 F16 A18 against top half, W14 D3 L2 F36 A11 against bottom half.

In reality, that's how you build a promotion-challenging season. Plymouth have only varied that by being nearly unbeatable at home, but dodgy on the road.

Edit: Had given SheffW one more win than they actually have against top half.

Did I see Dimley has blubbed and left?

He'll be back the second we don't win a game.

Profile's still up. He'll be back in less than 7 days claiming that he 'never said that, actually'.

I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.

One of them's only gone quiet as they've 'left' because because Phil's been 'censoring' him.

This season has really showed us the divvies on TWTD. Quiet on here now though, long may that continue.

Quiet acceptance that we’re destined for the play-offs isn’t it? That was pretty much confirmed 6-weeks plus ago.

Ha, so Argyle's run in after Barnsley may actually be quite sticky if season's form continues!

The six remaining away fixtures (including Barnsley) are most likely to prove their Achilles heel. One of those is the derby at Exeter. Any draws or losses at home are a bonus.

Hmm, looks like Plymouth have got an easy run of games coming up as they’ve played far fewer game’s against the bottom teams. We’re the opposite - doesn’t bode too well for our chance of catching them

They’ve also done exceptionally well against rivals. Can’t say their current position isn’t merited. The sods

I’m asking how you know those people are the same people? Because in my opinion it reads as though you’ve just taken a wild stab in the dark, a cheap shot.

So I’m clearly correct.

Their last three games are all at home against no-hopers.

But this is football, and it would be unusual if the odd surprise wasn't thrown up. Argyle know how to win by small margins (or draw against Town e.g.), that's been the difference imo. They have good players and a good manager, of course. Yet... if and it's a bif IF we can keep the pressure on, it may yield the odd shock. After all, they don't do so well against the "worse" teams... but then, we aren't so hot at beating top six.

This weekend is exciting, even if reality and smart money says next to piss all chance of catching them. But smarts ain't part of the fan make-up; the clue is in the etymology innit.

Someone said recently that it would be peak Town to finish above Argyle but be pipped to second by Barnsley. Arf.
