Today's Budget 07:39 - Mar 15 with 5840 views | NeedhamChris | Rumblings seem to be that the free childcare places might be extended to 1 and 2 year olds in the budget today. With a first child due next week - this would be a really pleasant surprise so hope this does materialise. By no means a Tory, but would welcome that immensely. Anyone else looking out for anything particular today? [Post edited 15 Mar 2023 7:44]

Today's Budget on 17:27 - Mar 15 by BlueBadger | Tories: we can't fund services, public sector pay and should cu money to the most vulnerable etc, etc because wen have to balance our incomings and outgoings. Also Tories: we should cut taxes massively, particularly to the massively wealthy |
Increasing the basic threshold benefits lower and middle earners. Minimum wage earners and thereabouts saw significant increases in take home pay thanks to this policy in the 2010s.

Ha. The next election is the first where I might not be voting conservative. Problem is the lack of alternatives. Labour certainly haven't earned my vote.

You could start a ‘keep Starmer out’ coalition with Darth and DaveU?

Today's Budget on 08:18 - Mar 15 by Herbivore | Especially as the motivation isn't remotely to help people, but to try and 'encourage' more mothers back into full time work at the earliest opportunity. The Tories' to nly solution to low productivity and poor economic growth is to try and grind more work out of us plebs. |
