That’s a lovely picture. I’m so pleased Magilton is back at the club. I hope ITFC makes a fuss of him and makes it right. He was treated abominably in my view.
The strange thing is that when he signed for the club I thought ‘what a waste of time. Why are we bothering with this bit part journeyman?’. I’d seen him play against us previously and that was my view at the time.
Just how wrong can you be? In my case, totally. My closest cluelessness was seeing Muhren in his first home game and thinking he was a weak waste of space in a shirt that couldn’t do anything. Ooops.
Back to Jim, what a player he was for us. Fitted the team perfectly. Aside from his own game, he made the people around him better players. More than 260 appearances for us and ‘that’ game against Bolton. He actually made around 30 more than Kevin Beattie.
Then he became manager. Not the worst - just look at Evans’ collection of clowns bar Mick. Jim’s teams were always entertaining.
Hall of Fame? There aren’t too many players/people who’ve worked for the club that deserve it more than him. [Post edited 17 Mar 2023 23:48]
