EDL supporter, obviously, just the sort of scummy bloke you see Nazi saluting outside a hotel full of refugees. the thing i don't get is how is he allowed to travel, he has a banning order on him etc. When I used to travel with England you would get passports checked when you left, had to have check done by England Fans group and one of my mates had a D&D caution from a night out in Colchester that he had to explain away to the police and border control when we left every single time This bloke doesn't seem to have the brain to plot a different route into the country to get around this but maybe they've lessened checks now |
....my local Rozzer Station at 3pm every Saturday afternoon for the duration of my ban, and I had a 1 mile exclusion order around every "professional sporting arena". They didn't put any specific exclusions around travelling over and above that. ....this was ages ago though.

There is a patriotic family round the corner for me who have been flying a Union Flag outside their house for years, so long it is getting tattered and torn now. Not once in all the years they have been flying it have they noticed that is upside down.

There's a cul de sac near me which has houses arranged around a small greensward that has a lamp post in the middle of it. There is still a union flag that went up in response to the death of Elizabeth II half way up (or down) the lamp post.

I have no idea how England away games work, what do you mean by, "when you travel with England"? You don't just arrange your own travel over there? How do border control know you're off to watch the football? | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Well they assume if you are getting the ferry to Amsterdam the day before England play there you are going to football; or flying into Barcelona the same. They then have police at the check in desks etc for the flights in days before the game who work with border force for a more stringetn check. Was the same when going to World Cups etc, not unusual to see people get turned away and could be for things that were pretty minor. Obviously if people want to take a long circuitous route they can avoid these checks Also, you often needed to pick up away tickets in the city, and if a Travel Club member you had to 'check in' abroad to get your caps awarded for future priority to stop people just buying tickets and not travelling

If someone was arrested overseas for football related trouble would they be banned from England matches straight away? Is there a zero tolerance of trouble makers?

My daughter and son in law are both England Travel Club members and it's a case that they have to keep up their ticket purchases to stay qualified. They don't always go to matches due to work commitments etc. but you must keep up with tlcket purchases. I've been to a couple of games at Wembley. on their tickets but they stress that i must behave myself

I couldn't say for definite but they'd straight away have their Travel Club membership revoked so wouldn't be able to buy official away tickets - they then could appeal and get that turned over. Could obviously buy tickets of touts etc out there

Good luck tonight mate.... on 15:56 - Mar 23 by MattinLondon | Bell end with the flag. ‘You know what lads, I have a really good idea of showing how proud we are to being English’. Man hiding his face. ‘Like being really loud and creating a carnival of colour? Bell end with the flag ‘Nah, you daft sod. I’ve created this. Those Napoli fans will see what epic bantz we have. Someone take a photo’. Man hiding his face. ‘I’m just going to cover my face here. Hope you have travel insurance’. I’m trying to put myself in his mindset but it always comes down to want to play the idiot. It makes no sense to me to want to be deliberately offensive. I’m just wondering whether there are any posters on here who have deliberately went out of their way to look for trouble whilst watching England play? If so why? Was it out of a sense of national honour or was it just out of a desire to fight? Genuinely interested in why this happens. |
Was over in Naples and a minority of idiots wanted to keep singing about Maradonna being in a box too. I told some to stop and they did initially but couldn’t keep a lid on it all night. Most of us thought it was stupid and unnecessarily provocative. It was embarrassing as we’d been treated well by the locals and Police at that point so the disrespect was cringeworthy. I think they wanted to do it because they thought it was funny and they felt safe where we were at the time even though we were in relatively small numbers. They were probably too stupid to consider that we were being filmed by numerous locals and the press so it could have been seen by the wrong people via social media etc. Those starting it were the sort that’d be the first to run if there was trouble so I don’t think they wanted to fight. They just like to think of themselves as naughty and don’t consider the consequences. Wouldn’t mind as much if they’d be there to face the music but chances are someone else would get it by association. A large group of ultras approached us later on and our idiots had gone by then. They were fine and didn’t mind us singing and drinking, they basically said they wouldn’t have a problem as long as we respected their city. Surprised the Burnley fan with the flag wasn’t already banned from the ESTC. He’d have only just had to renew his membership and they do Police checks etc when you do. Presumably had an official ticket as they said the FA cancelled it.

There may be a breakdown in the bureaucracy at the moment: 'The UK also did not originally participate in the recast 2016 Europol Regulation, but subsequently notified the EU of its desire to participate in December 2016. Its participation was confirmed by a Commission Decision in March 2017. In September 2017, it was reported that the United Kingdom was planning to hold onto Europol access, such as intelligence sharing and co-operation in fighting crime and terrorism, after Brexit though a new treaty. However, the EU's chief negotiator Michel Barnier said in November 2017 that the UK "will no longer be a member of the European Defence Agency or Europol" after Brexit takes effect.'
