I certainly remember the Blue Arrow trains, and getting football specials to games in the 1970s, but I am not sure I remember travelling on a train quite like that. Maybe it was an official supporters' club type of train, and the ones I travelled on (such as to the 1975 FA Cup semi-final) were additional trains put on by British Railways.

Ipswich Town fans: best behaved in England? on 08:50 - May 8 with 3271 views
Thanks for posting that. The logistics and organisation is incredible - especially the post-match interviews etc. It was before my time but I do (somewhere) have a pin badge with that Blue Arrow logo on - not sure where I got it from.
It's 106 miles to Portman Road, we've got a full tank of gas, half a round of Port Salut, it's dark... and we're wearing blue tinted sunglasses.

Skinhead!
Wonder if he still attends matches?
The sister of one of my best friends at school in the early 1970s was a skinhead. There weren't so many female skinheads and their hair wasn't as short as the men's. Later in the 70s, the female hairstyle developed into a much longer length, cut around the ears.

Some amazing information! It’s in contrast to this YouTube video I watched a few weeks ago on local derby policing. Appreciate it’s filmed from a Norfolk police perspective but Town fans are painted to be savages! A (biased) documentary made by Anglia TV in the late ‘90s, one or two outside shots of the old North stand included.
