This is a stab in the back of our country and our people. It was such a blow that was dealt to Russia in 1917, when the country was waging the First World War. But the victory was stolen from her. Intrigues, squabbles, politicking behind the backs of the army and the people turned into the greatest shock, the destruction of the army and the collapse of the state, the loss of vast territories. As a result, the tragedy of the civil war. Russians killed Russians, brothers - brothers, and all sorts of political adventurers and foreign forces, who divided the country, tore it apart, took selfish gain. We won't let this happen again. We will protect both our people and our statehood from any threats. Including - from internal betrayal. And what we are faced with is precisely a betrayal. Exorbitant ambitions and personal interests led to treason. To betray our country, our people, and the cause for which, side by side with our other units and subunits, the soldiers and commanders of the Wagner group fought and died. "

I presume he's referring to Kerensky, otherwise he stands to upset the old Communists (some of whom are still in politics under other names).

Maybe not, using a concept like apostasy and referring to 1917 as a terrible event smack of having the Russian Orthodox church on his shoulder and whispering into his ear.

A full bore rant then. Can’t imagine that many will understand what he’s on about, but then his audience is his internal enemies, perceived and real.

The statement said that Vladimir Putin briefed Lukashenko in the morning and, with his approval, Lukashenko held negotiating talks with Prigozhin. “Negotiations continued throughout the day. As a result, they came to agreements on the inadmissibility of unleashing a bloody massacre on the territory of Russia,” the statement read. Wagner nor Prigozhin has not commented on the negotiations.

It’s back to base for Wagner. De escalation. Assuming Putin has sufficient reliable people, there will be a massive purge starting with Prigozhin. He’s done if the reports coming out are correct and Wager are doing a u turn.. One thing you can guarantee is the Strong Man will behave to type. There’s no way back from an accusation of armed militant. The crises has a long way to go. Because under the news, what’s actually happening? Are Putin’s incompetent generals obeying orders? Are his soldiers happy to die? Are the Russian people happy to see husbands and children arrive home in boxes? What does Ukraine do?

Hard to see how Prigozhin doesn't end up out of a hospital window over the next few weeks. SB [Post edited 24 Jun 2023 19:23]

Not remotely convinced of the bona fides of this. No logic at all in Progozhin stopping now. If you take a shot at the king, you have to succeed.

To me that suggests Putin could be in Belarus. Seems odd to let Lukashenko negotiate. Lukashenko is supposed to be the puppet. Progzhin has clearly been given some sort of deal as he looks a bit stupid on the surface just randomly deciding to turn around. He must have something to show for it.
