Glasto thread 00:02 - Jun 24 with 9629 views | Whos_blue | Don't know if it's everyone's up of tea, but thought it would be good to have a thread of highlights, things to catch up on/look forward to. I'll be going back to watch some more of the Young Fathers. Looked and sounded amazing. Looking forward to seeing them at Latitude. Watching the Arctic Monkeys. They're one of those bands who passed me by a bit. A decent set, but maybe a little pedestrian and samey for me.

Rick Astley & Blossoms singing The Smiths is very good fun on John Peel now

Glasto thread on 19:09 - Jun 24 with 2315 views | thatbdude | I liked the Foo Fighters performances. A lot of people didn't like the Artic Monkeys performace, finding it slow or off, but honestly for someone like Alex Turner (who was sick prior to glasto) they did good and I enjoyed it. Glasto thread on 19:29 - Jun 24 with 2273 views | Dubtractor | Gotta be honest, there isn't much in that lineup that hugely appeals. The classic stuff mostly isn't my bag, and the new acts clearly aimed at a younger/poppier audience. Saw a bit of the Foo Fighters set last night and the TV sound mix was horrible. No punch at all. Will check out the Young Fathers set though, should be seeing them at green man later in the summer.

She/the band still perform their hits as they did 30-odd years ago, her voice is amazing. Can't agree that it's a poor line up, so many different acts for all generations, there must be something for everyone, even those with terrible musical tastes

Is it Axl's voice, or can't the mic handle his pitch? Can bearly hear him sometimes

It's not great, but don't forget Appetite for destruction came out nearly 37 years ago. I don't suppose many of us are as good as we were back then. [Post edited 24 Jun 2023 22:56]

Regarding the sound mix, all of the BBC coverage has had terrible sound. Everything sounds very muffled and there is no clarity at all. I was starting to doubt my setup, so I tried listening to a random track from last weekend's Hellfest from YouTube. The sound was crystal clear. There is definitely something wrong with the BBC's sound.
