Agreed, but you can't start pointing fingers at other countries as being the bad ones and then turn around and say that the context of the statistics is irrelevant.

Assuming they are in fact posh, does it make their message less valid somehow? Would you not be whining if they were salt of the earth sons of a carpenter?

My original point was that the planet is doomed without major (and should have added urgent) changes from the US, China, and India. They are the largest CO2 emitters on the planet. I’ve resigned myself to the fact targets will not be met, and even if we achieve net zero in the UK it’s not going to make the planet habitable. Fiddling while Rome burns.

But especially with India, they're going to make a lot more emissions simply by having more people. It's going to be hard for them to decrease emissions further especially when you take into account their manufacturing. China is the big one and they ship their emissions around the world. That's why the context is important when blaming those countries as they aren't doing it in a vacuum. The US is particularly bad as they import a lot of goods from China as well as having a high per capita rate even without consumption being taken into consideration. I try to look on the positive side of things, but I don't think the targets will be met and I think people are in for a rude awakening if they think that a few inconvenient protests are going to be the painful bit.

Many of them are 'salt-of-the-earth' types but it's far easier to demonise them (while doing begger all yourself) by calling them smelly, hippies, giving them posh names and describing their parents as "mummy and daddy".
| Trust the process. Trust Phil. |

A lot of ignorance around this isn't there?

They don't target everything, so why target a festival that already supports their aims when there are so many other opportunities? That would be daft. To think that they might do so would be daft.
