There he goes.

I don't really know why they have Starc above him in the batting order but we should be ok now.

Well, I'm assuming that we won't bowl the sort of short ball dross that for Murphy loads of runs in the first innings.

No. I've seen enough 9/10 wicket partnerships in my time.

No, but it would be nice to wrap this up with plenty of time, and runs, to spare.

It is nervy. Still a decent amount of runs to play with but the more they chalk off it becomes tense. They're still getting a decent bit of luck too, both have mistimed it trying to launch Ali and have missed a fielder by a matter of feet.

A few too many easy singles at the moment. At least it's 68 still needed, it'll time out before Aus get close.

If it gets to regular stumps time & light/weather are OK, how long a time extension is permitted if a result looks imminent?

They'll try to play the remaining overs I believe, which is still 20 odd.

Need to get Broad out of the attack. No room for sentiment and he's trying too hard and leaking runs.

Oh good, two boundaries as well now and that target is coming down a bit too quickly.

Come on England.

And thank fk for that. Two great balls in a row from Broad, far too good for Murphy.

Was literally about to post the same. Love the man to bits but this needs more intelligence than just trying to bounce them out. They're 8 down for christ sakes. Pitch it up.

Edit. I'll let you all pile in.

Fair play to Broad, three deliveries bang on line and length and finally caught the edge.
