I've not seen anything worrying at all in the games I've seen.

I think it's mostly been underwhelming.

Frimmers agrees with you.

The defence rests, m'lud.

KM does too if he was looking at signing Mcnally.

50/50. While our defence isn't the strongest I don't think we'll need to worry about relegation really.

We just need to stay calm, I think we'll be fine

I’ve been saying till I’m blue in the face that I don’t think our defence is anywhere near strong enough . Guess we’ll find out over the coming months won’t we….. will be extremely happy to be proven completely wrong btw.

Yep despite the fact we kept more clean sheets than any team in the league, despite the fact that we conceded fewer goals than any other team and despite the fact that we conceded zero goals from mistakes when we played it out from the back you did keep saying our defence wasn’t up to scratch.

I guess you’ve thrown enough sh!t at it now that when we do conceded more goals that you can say you were right.

Well, yes, because we only have three senior centre backs on the books as it stands.

Is it really that many who think we’ll make top six? Genuinely haven’t seen that on here or twitter

I think we can and it’s certainly what we should aim for. Why not? How good or bad are we? - nobody knows. I don’t do betting but if I did 8-12 position would be where my money went. But I notice the running around head on fire mob have quietly deleted Plymouth’s performance yesterday, or is that because it’s only Huddersfield?

It ought to be about continuous improvement this season. We will have an inkling of where we are after half a dozen games, but we I dread to think of the reaction on here if it goes badly today. I shall certainly give TWTD a wide berth for a few days if we lose.

No, I think people are just setting expectations to avoid disappointment. Plymouth won 3-1. We were more than good enough against Burnley and Rotherham. Looked more than good enough against Preston, who will likely be mid table or above.

I don't understand why people think players like Woolf can't make the step up. He didn't look out of place against Leipzig. He's better than Anderson, who is making a step up to the premiership.

That's what Sunderland said last season though and they did just fine, with not too many new faces...

All looked pretty average to me personally. Don’t see what the fuss has been about.

Great point about Mads Anderson. One on one Hirst made him look like Steptoe’s horse Hercules, yet he will be starting in the Premier League next week.

It's going to be trickier than League 1. Anyone who thinks otherwise is daft. I think we have enough quality to do just fine. Long term we want to do better than just fine but I think half a season of being top half will be a good foundation to build on and that's what I am anticipating.

Having seen a fair bit over the weekend I'm pleasantly surprised having not watched Champ football for a couple of years. The doom mongers had me believing it's the prem lite, it's not though really is it?

We'll be fine, might not be smashing the league but at very worst lower mid table and that's without any additions.

trust the process.

No idea when I began here, was a very long time ago. Previously known as Spirit_of_81. Love cheese, hate the colour of it, this is why it requires some blue in it.
