He has this arrogance about him that suggests his playing philosophy is already 'mastered' in his eyes and the players are the ones who need to learn it.

His pre-match comments reminded me a lot of Paul Lambert, that praising players despite rubbish performances thing he used to do. And then I thought how similar his team were to Town in the relegation season under PL, lots of possession, largely going nowhere and few real chances or goals. Really never been impressed with his teams wherever he's been. |  | | |

Martin-ball is very odd. He likes them to have the ball but they don't use it especially quickly and their pressing to win it back is very, very average when they don't have it. Our press was so much more effective than theirs. And when they do break the press with a neat little triangle, half the time they turn back and pass it backwards and have to start all over again. They only really looked threatening when we either misplaced a pass or they picked up a second ball in a bit of space in our half and it was then mainly individuals playing off the cuff to create something rather than being his usual possession based game. He won't last the season. |
Exactly this. Very like the football Lambert played with us at the end of his time here. Did Martin play under Lambert or were they up the road at different times? |  |

Whilst we might be considered as overperforming along with PNE, Norwich, Plymouth, Wednesday, Brum et al it can't be that all those teams even out to their expected finishes. Could be a lot of managers looking at some time in the shed or visiting other training grounds in a month or so. |  |
