Should probably put a trigger-warning in the subject.

As someone aged 63 and so not entitled to the vaccine, I wouldn't mind a bit of DJR-proofing, given my wife had it last week and my daughter this week, and it was far from a breeze for either of them.

The current strain is really rather nasty, bringing a titanic dose of the sh1ts with it as well as the respiratory stuff, virally aches and spiking temperatures.

I found it a lot easier to book this time, more places available locally - had to wait weeks & travel 15 miles for the spring booster (which was end of May, so was surprised to get the invite again so soon after).

Did your post include two 'F's before you edited it? 🤔

Serious question. If you've had Covid in the last month (I have) is it worth getting the vaccine? Aren't you already protected?

I'm assuming only people of a certain age and the vulnerable get invited for one these days.

Only against that particular strain. Don't forget, that covid mutates faster than the average Norfolk family.

My wife and daughter haven't had the former, but they have had the rest in spades. Indeed, my wife has been clear for a week but isn't fully back to normal. And my daughter is 22 and still not out of the woods, so those who say it doesn't really affect the young are mistaken.

Plus, it's worth reminding again, that even a light dose will increase your chances of picking up a nasty blood clot.

My comment wasn't really trying to make a point, it was more of a joke.

I suppose ultimately one often makes assumptions about people. In the days when telephone calls were the main means of communication, I would build up a picture of what a person looked like, but if I ever got to meet them, they never looked as I imagined.

As I said above, my response was jocular, and not intended to make any sort of point.

But your assumption happened to be wrong.
