The new commentators are okay, but Brenner is brilliant. I too think he should be on TownTV.
They'd all laugh at me if they knew what I was trying to do. To create a new strain of super-wine in half-an-hour with a fraction of nature's resources and a FOOL for an assistant. 'Bernard Black, he's mad,' they'd say, 'he's insane, he's dangerous.' Well I'll show them! I'll show them all!

It's great to have both. I really like the town TV commentator and Radio commentators don't always translate as well (Alan green was amazing on radio but less so on TV).
Brenner is good for Radio I reckon!
Think he should have a slot talking ipswich from a coffee shop table outdoors with the eadt paper on the table (Football Italia style) though

I’d help crowdfund your final paragraph, would love that

Agree on Brenner, the new guys are okay, but you can't compare, he brings so much more than just commentary.
I do like Westlake on co-comms though, him and Brenner would be a dream team on TownTV.
Anyone else notice that after the 3rd goal on Tuesday, Westlake asked whether we would be returning to the top of the table. The main commentator ummed and arred, clearly didn't know. Pretty poor from both of them to be honest. Compare with Brenner's excellent commentary (as usual).

Another thing (got me going now!) but can anyone explain why you can't get RS match commentary online? Constant source of frustration for someone who can't pick it up on the radio.

Yep. Westie and Brenner should be the A Team. Not that I've got anything against things as they are, but I do have a soft spot for Brenner. After so long listening to him, he's the sound of ITFC for me.

RS doesn't have the rights to broadcast match commentary online / nationally, only local FM. It is very annoying I agree. There used to be a less-than-legal option to stream it but I'm not sure that is still set up anywhere.
If he is asked and Town TV is a step up from Radio Suffolk, then few could begrudge Brenner the opportunity.
But from a selfish point of view, I think he would leave a massive void in the radio commentary and maybe, just maybe, his style is much more suited to the radio. He does have a brilliant way of relaying to the listener what is happening. The intonations are spot on and that little gasp and pause before an effort on goal is called a goal or not is heart-stopping (well for me anyway).
I'm sure he'd be great on Town TV but sometimes commentators are better suited to one of visual/audio commentary. Think Peter Jones, John Arlott etc, would their style of commentary had been the same on the box? I'm not churlishly saying Brenner is in the same league as them but you get the point.
