Chris Sutton: when I see him or hear anything about him I always think of Edmond Dantes in the film version of The Count of Monte Christo who was brought up from his prison cell once a year for a good anniversary whipping. I still shudder with a memory from Loftus Road as well, that I think will haunt me for the rest of my days. That was all because of just one person as well, and it was an absolutely awful experience.

That’s just unlocked a repressed memory. Everything about that day was a disappointment. I can see Mark Fish on the halfway line with the ball under no pressure and shanking it out of play.
It was also the first time I’d seen Town since the play off defeat the previous season. After 5 mins, I knew it would be a forgettable season; the horror of realising we’d replaced Bent and Kuqi with Forster and Parkin still gives me the chills now. | | | |
