If and when Morsy gets suspended. Bring in Clarke at right back, Williams at left back and Leif Davis in Morsy's role.

Discuss.

It's different, I'll give you that! But Leif isn't quite the tackler Sam is.

On a related note, you just know Sam is going to be suspended for Nodge isn't he!

If he isn’t, he will be afterwards

That was largely in games where we were on the front foot though - a number of his bookings this season have been those cynical fouls to stop teams breaking on us, which happens a LOT more in this division.

And Shiite reffs .

I'd be amazed to see Ball start for us this season in the league to be honest, think he's looked a little way off it when he's played. A good pro and very versatile but not on the level of some of our other CMs. As others have said, think if Morsy is missing then Luongo drops a bit deeper and Taylor comes in.

Sorry - thought the hypothetical where a defender would come in to the midfield was if we were missing two of the regular CMs. Agree Luongo/Taylor if it's just Morsy missing. If we're down two of Morsy/Luongo/Taylor then I think it's probably Ball and/or Humphreys ahead of the defenders.

You’d take one of our most consistent performers with the most assists over the last two seasons out of the role he’s thriving in and play him out of position? What’s to discuss? This is numbskull chat.

When we had Greg Leigh here, he was an option for that role.

I like Greg Leigh. Really hope he gets back to back promotions this season.

Never ever play full backs in centre midfield. CMs have to play thru 360 degrees and be able to play on the half turn. FBs usually only play thru 180 degrees and hardly ever have to play on the half turn, work in tight spaces etc and they usually have an easy out ball to a centre half or down the line that a CM doesn’t have as the game is almost always in front of them.

In the spirit of reconciliation and happiness at the end of the Banter Era (RIP) and as a result of promotion I have cleared out my ignore list. Look forwards to reading your posts!
