51 years and been to dozens of derbies home and away.

I can’t stand them.

But their whole club exists to try and compete with us as they’ve had no genuine success at all.
Ours exists to try and be the best that we can be and get back to those days that some of are fortunate enough to have witnessed.

Once we beat them and move on, they have absolutely nothing left to laud over us.
They will soon be a complete irrelevance to us again.

Of course I hope the fanfare and extra distraction placed on the players brings a positive response, but a win counts for very little if the players treat it as something special and our standards drop afterwards.

You must think the players (and McKenna) are as thick as mince. Our standards may have dropped slightly after Exeter because we'd got the job done. After Norwich the job will be a long way from being done. The standards aren't going to drop.

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

PR needs atmosphere every week, end of. The amount of people moaning on here about song or chant choice has been ridiculous recently. Any effort should be welcomed especially in one of our biggest home games of the season. I find it bewildering Blue Action get so much rebuke given how proactive they are.

We need to turn Portman Road into a loud barbarous atmosphere that opposition fans and players dread coming to, it’s going to be essential to promotion and survival.

This is great.

Would be great if someone with a little bit of media talent make a mid season / pre Norwich video to wet the appetite.

Incorporating Burns, Wolfy and Clarkes promotion winning / Norwich baiting also. The video of Burns out celebrating and he is asked ''what do you think of norwich?'' he simply replies ''fck Norwich'' Brilliant.

Brandon Williams tackle and spurring the crowd on from a few games a go should also be included.

10 days away come on let's let Norwich have what we have all been waiting for since 2009... A footballing dismantlement.

I think that's going too far. We don't want something the Norwich manager can use as inspiration for his players.

Quite agree. In fact, it would be much better to treat the build up as if they are an irrelevance to us. Make them just another team, nothing special etc.

I’m not a fan of excessive tribalism, so understand where you’re coming from about the result, but it adds a bit of spice to the day. Mind you, it’s worse when you loose too, so swings and roundabouts. Football is mostly about emotions and the atmosphere and the derby turbo boosts them both.

Accidental downthumb from me, apologies

Perhaps have one ready made for after they are dismantled and Wagner is sacked

Genuine question - what is the law on flares?

I thought they were illegal in public, but the police didn't care last time and don't seem to care again seeing as they're allowing this to go ahead?

Buzzing for this!

They’re still legal but went out of fashion in the seventies. Wear them at your peril I say.

That’s what I’ve been trying to say.

Imagine if we played Colchester after years of playing in a higher division than them, and they ramped it up, got the flares out, street parties blah, blah, blah.

We’d laugh at how much fuss they were making after we’d left them behind for so long.
And now imagine how they’d feel if they made all that fuss and we beat them, at their place.

I obviously get how massive it is for the fans.
But McKenna will approach Norwich no differently than other game, before, during and after, and will be trying desperately hard to keep the players emotions in check or we’ll end up with 9 players after 20 minutes as Williams and Morsy have gone over the top.

This season is about so much more than one mediocre team.

It's not remotely comparable to Ipswich v Colchester.

Fuss or no fuss will make no odds to how gutted we'd feel if we lost to Norwich.

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

Not really sure we need to celebrate being given a chance to beat our local rivals.

I’m sure those who participate will enjoy the experience but if the unthinkable happened and we didn’t win then you can be sure it will forever be seen, by that lot up the road, as treating the game like a cup final and celebrating prematurely.

In football terms it really is just another 3 points.

It's not celebrating being given a chance to beat our local rivals. It's encouraging the team. That's all.

We'd get slaughtered on social media if we lost regardless of what we did before the game.

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

I find the constant “yeah but if we lose” narrative so bizarre.

1. We’ve won 17 (SEVENTEEN) of our last 18 home league games.

2. It’s football, we might not win, but crikey. Lighten up! Be confident! Back the boys!

Poll: So, how many league wins did you see in person?
