Recency bias from me right now, but Aer Lingus is an absolute circus of an airline. Hands down THE worst in Europe/US

Experiences can vary. Yes, the US majors have been unrelentingly bad for years, but I've flown KLM twice, once in the 1980s & once a few years ago & both times their staff have been charming.

Yes, I suppose that we can only speak as we find. Maybe it is time to try KLM again.

I really like Singapore, but my favourite is always SAS, understated, polite and calm.

BA
Friday evening flight from Paris to Bristol.
The posh sounding pilot apologised to passengers that he'd got the times mixed up and we wouldn't be taking off at 6:30pm but at 7:30pm.
It was Friday so the evening meal was fish.
The smell of fish was everywhere and seemed to be getting stronger,
At about 6:50 the first throw-up into a sick-bag was followed by another and by the time we took off the smell of sick was the top smell.
Once in the air, they served us the fish which had been steaming in it's own juices for over an hour. Like me, most people declined.
The smell in the aircraft was rank.
Then the posh pilot announced that Bristol Airport had been smothered in fog for the last 10 minutes so we had to divert to Exeter and would be bussed back to Bristol.
So, a flight that should have had me in Bristol for 7:30pm got me there 4 hours late.
I've flown since, but all with Easy Jet with whom I have no complaints.

Don't believe a word I say. I'm only kidding. Or am I?

Ryanair flights are full of passengers who have said they will never fly Ryanair again, we have been using Ryanair for more than 20 years and we have never had a problem with them, most of the complaints are from people who don't read what they are supposed to do like getting there boarding pass or turning up with cases that are overweight or oversized for taking into the cabin, maybe some are just thick🤔

Flew with a now defunct outfit in Cambodia called President Airlines, Phnom Peng to Ratanakiri, as with the flight Lagos mentioned it was treetops in view all the way. But this was because the cabin was not airtight and after ten minutes or so cloud started to leak in. So I was sat watching the tree out of a port hole and suddenly felt a thump in the middle of my chest. Looked down and a bag of peanuts was in my lap, the stewardess had walked down the aisle throwing the in-flight snacks at passengers. When we got to Ratanakiri an unsupervised dog ran out to greet the plane as it taxied into the 'terminal' - which was a shed into which our luggage was chucked for us to retrieve ourselves.

Best airline I have flown is Air New Zealand, very attentive and great safety videos.

I have never said I won't use Ryanair again, but I avoid them whenever I reasonably can. "Reasonably" does include taking the car on the Harwich - Hook ferry & then driving to Austria, though. Or taking train Ipswich - London - Paris - Geneva...

It just sticks in the throat to know that, if I have to get somewhere and book Ryanair, I need to keep £500 and /or 24 hours of contingency, just in case they can't be arsed to operate a flight.

I fly 30 to 50 RyanAir a year and rarely have a delay of more than a hour, never had a cancel and never paid anything extra that I wasn't aware had to be paid. Staff are fine. It's not luxurious but I often fly Ireland UK for 20 Euro. Waiting for a Wizz Air from Ljubljana as I type to get to Luton to get the Now TV logged in. They are fine too and fly around the Balkans cheaply.
The worst I flew was AirLingus Regional operated by Stobbart Air to Exeter from Dublin. No heating and very bumpy and landing slots miles away and staff knowing it was going into liquidation so really weren't bothered.

It’s Ryanair, I don’t know how it could be anything else. They have no redeeming qualities, their planes are grim, their CEO is a massive cünt, their fees are egregious, their staff are miserable and they have no idea what customer service is. EasyJet is like being on a private jet in comparison.

Never had a problem and after covid because o'leary loves money most reliable flight out of Stansted for a 4 hr flight or less who cares.

Never had a problem with Ryanair either. Just make sure you read the rules properly so you don't get spanked for extra charges. For a quick flight to Europe, they're fine. If not the most comfortable aircraft. As long as I am able to step off the plane at my destination, I'm happy.

Just had an aborted take off on Wizz. Full throttle and hard break. Back on stand so getting to Luton to log in Now TV looking challenging. 2 hrs 15 flight

Good luck! I don’t think wizzair uses technology or aerodynamics to stay in the air - just faith of the passengers.

With each Airport being dominated by a single carrier, there’s little in the way of genuine competition, thus the standard is generally poor. My nearest airport is Stansted but given the near monopoly of Ryan Air, I tend not to use it unless I absolutely have to. Usually pay extra to fly from City or Southend as they are marginally more tolerable. I can still vaguely remember being excited at the prospect of flying, no the whole experience fills me with dread.
Back to the original question - Ryan Air. Although this is much like answering what is your favourite type of sh*t filled sandwich.

Already one Jamesons down. After all they are a sponsor so you've got to support them. I'm with my wife so stranded in Slovenia for Christmas isn't the worst thing in the world with Now TV for the matches.
