Josh Stokes linked to us on Twitter…. 17:43 - Dec 29 with 3799 views | ITFC_Forever | Was at Sudbury last season, and got a move to Aldershot where he’s really pushed on with consistently excellent performances and a decent number of goals. Considering his family in and around Ipswich, you’d think he’d do the right thing… Norwich and Sunderland also interested.

Good cricketer too, played as a youth and in the Firsts for Melton St Audry's....saw him score 220 at Sudbourne Hall the season before last.

The kind of player that Sunderland seem to buy, with a view to potential sale later.

We wouldn't possibly be spending £1 million on an unproven youngster from.the national league. Terrible journalism. I'd imagine £100-150k tops.

Seem to remember people saying that when we were linked to Vardy in his non-league days for a similar amount.

Town Linked With Fleetwood Striker 1st Jan 2012 19:33The Blues, Birmingham and West Ham are reported to be amongst the leading contenders to sign Fleetwood Town striker Jamie Vardy. The Cod Army are claimed to have turned down a £1 million offer for the 24-year-old, who has previously been mentioned in connection with Celtic and Huddersfield. 43 Interesting!

If his desire is to have another crack at his boyhood club, then that could put us in the driving seat... Can't see us putting a reported 1m in though... Not saying it wouldn't be a good investment.. But with all the talk about limited funds, just wonder whether we'd do that.... Be the perfect fairytale though, and another one of our own in the fold, if a reasonable deal could be done..
Josh Stokes linked to us on Twitter…. on 22:23 - Dec 30 with 2351 views | MK1 | We may take a £100,000 deal on the table with him coming in for the future, but we will realistically be looking for a ready to go straight away striker. We need someone who can play from day one. He may come back as a project for the future, but not first team ready.

A lot of Sunderland's policy of buying young and bringing through youth came from Mogga who has obviously got.the elbow. Will be interesting to see if they stick with the policy.

i read that Mowbray had become frustrated with the rigidity of Sunderland's model. He wanted to recruit some older players. https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/tony-mowbrays-final

The opposite is true. Mogga wanted a more balanced strategy. Their club policy is to buy young and maximize return in investment. They would be doing very well if they had bought a bit more experience. Signed some stella prospects though particularly in midfield.
