i read that Mowbray had become frustrated with the rigidity of Sunderland's model. He wanted to recruit some older players.

The opposite is true. Mogga wanted a more balanced strategy. Their club policy is to buy young and maximize return in investment. They would be doing very well if they had bought a bit more experience. Signed some stella prospects though particularly in midfield. | | | |
