Another one who’s confused performance with result.

Read the f’king thing and use your brains.

You're still wrong IMO.

Anyway, results have to be considered with the context of the performance.

Truly impaired.

Comparing the two is like asking if I’d like a chance to say goodbye to the family before dying, or dropping down dead without saying a word..

Both a complete and utter pile of sht.

Oh dear

We dominated the game today

And had more the than enough chances to win

That Lincoln game we were sh!t

Come on?!

I hear you.

But the outcome was the same. We lost both.

Be a bit hypercritical of me to be fuming over the Lincoln loss but be cool about todays, because we had loads of shots

We’ll be good again... one day

Today we had 78% possession 38 shots with 13 on target.

When we lost to non-league Lincoln in the FA cup, Lincoln had 53%,
And we had 7 shots and 2 on target.

So was it really the most embarrassing result in ITFC HISTORY

No way

There is a difference between worst performance and worst result. There is no doubt this is the worst result (and it's being highlighted all over the world as one of the greatest ever giant killings in cup history).

Didn't follow the team when conceded 10 to Fulham although of course with it when losing by similar score margin to Manchester United in '95. Back then and particularly the latter, the opposition were an all-star team full of class players while we were on a downward spiral out of the EPL , lost to Wrexham some weeks before in the F.A .Cup for good measure.

Today was different. Maidstone ain't no big team. They ain't no club set-up of all-stars and situated in some piss-ant league you can't even recognize. Still trying to figure out how we lost this game. Had a home advantage, come on leaps and bounds with McKenna and new ownership from say 2, 3 years back, (it were far removed from the Lincoln City mess) and we seemed to create far more opportunity and possession but somehow took defeat from it. Someone, somewhere HAS to be at fault.

Need 2 premier or championship strikers. Pronto. 5-1 at HT with a half decent striker.

Not read all the pages, but no it isn’t.

Wrexham 1995
Lincoln under Mick
Bolton 2002
Man Utd 1995

That’s four off the top of my head.

Wrexham were in Tier 4 in 1995 whilst we were in Tier 1- embarassing but less embarrassing than Maidstone

Lincoln under Mick : Lincoln were in Tier 5 and we were in Tier 2: less embarrassing

Bolton 2002: both sides in the Premier League= less embarrassing

Man Utd 9-0 Ipswich: both sides in Premier League. Horrible score line and we are still waiting for a side to surpass that and lose 10-0. Closest to Maidstone but given the fact we were beaten at home by a Tier 6 side= no competition really.

As you would expect, the Kent Messenger has gone overboard with the victory, and this article has Matt Holland's wise comments about the game.

Wise words indeed from Matt Holland.

Distortion becomes somehow pure in its wildness.
