Are we going to get big Keiffer over the line today? 08:28 - Feb 1 with 4409 viewsitfcjoe

Positives
Very good quality player at this level
Match fit
Will only be a short term signing until summer so doesn't hamstring us going forwards

Negatives
May have to adapt game a bit as he isn't as mobile a presser as we are used to
Will be an expensive deal

But ultimately, as we've seen - how many good, fit Championship quality number 9s are there out there? If we get Keiffer it's probably the best signing of this type any Champ club will have made this window whether we would have preferred Gallagher or not.

He was so, so bad when he came here last time. Funny really how things turn out. I'd obviously be pleased if we got him in.

To be fair to the guy (which I’ll admit I wasn’t at the time), he was plucked from non league and into a team that was struggling. I think the jump was too great. However the moment that he dropped down a division he started banging in the goals and he hasn’t looked back from there.

He’s got some unfinished business with us I reckon. I genuinely don’t see how we can expect to do better than him today

i'm positive about this - a good addition and should be strong in the championship. but i still find it hard to reconcile his first spell here with being excited about his return as we push for promotion. i really wouldn't have seen that coming at all.

And so as the loose-bowelled pigeon of time swoops low over the unsuspecting tourist of destiny, and the flatulent skunk of fate wanders into the air-conditioning system of eternity, I notice it's the end of the show

Does anyone know if Bournmouth need to move a player on if they bring in the striker from Getafe?

Belief is Unal's arrival frees up Moore to leave. Hopefully no one makes a late bid for Solanke and throw a spanner in the works.

In the other thread(s), the main concern has been around his pressing which is a fair point given how important it is to our game. That's not to say he doesn't bring a lot with the rest of his game but he's going to have to do a lot more running than he's used to.

Hope he's been on the treadmill recently!

I think the key here is that some teams are now pressing us further up the pitch and Moore would be fantastic as an outlet. Maybe not as mobile in the front line, but can definitely hold the ball up very well under pressure and bring others into play.

Whilst Jackson has his attributes, it's so noticeble when we are under the cosh we have no one that can hold the ball up to take the pressure away from our defence, Moore would give us the breathing space needed.

I would be very happy with this window if he arrived.

That's definitely something we missed first half against Leicester. Their press was ridiculous and we couldn't get through it and our only outlet was balls into the channels for Jackson and Burns, which worked a couple of times but made us a bit predictable. Having someone like Moore to ping it up to and play off as a way of beating the press will be important for us as an option. Some games, Al-Hamadi's running might be better suited. It's good to have some different options.

Good point about Al-Hamadi. If he gets up to speed quickly, bringing him on for Moore and completely switching how we're playing would be fairly troublesome.

From what I've read, it sounds like Al-Hamadi should be physically up to the Championship from day 1, it'll just be whether he's there technically. He's one who could really hit the ground running if everything aligns, or he might end up being more of a project. Think he'll get good minutes over the rest of the season and you're right about him giving us the option to really switch things up.
