Was not great from him, or Clarke really.

Although on the general topic, think he's been our best defender this season so weird to see people thinking we should replace him first.

Both should have done better, Wolfy especially, but the real issue in the first 20 minutes on Saturday was that we couldn't keep the ball forward and we were second best to the loose ball in midfield far too many times. Luongo in particularly started very slowly but Morsy and Chaplin were not great early on either.

no matter how we dress this up...we should have reinforced at the back.
Has McKenna confused loyalty with sense?

Had to get across to their winger AGAIN, because AGAIN our ‘right back’ went haring out to a ball he had no chance of getting AGAIN and left a massive hole in behind AGAIN!!

Have an uppy, principally for the inverted commas.

Yeah. Horrible to say but we probably need to upgrade on Clarke in the summer too.

Fully fit Brandon Williams is a big upgrade on Clarke.

Whether he is or isn't is beside the point sadly - will we see a fully fit Brandon Williams again?

There are defenders who can't defend. There are players further up the pitch not asserting much authority either.

How can we've so casual for 80 minutes and chasing a deficit ...yet can dominate so much history n the last 10 minutes??? .

Something McKenna has to sort out. Start with Moore and Al Hadami up front and Hutchinson and Taylor .

Defensively we did look our strongest with Donacien at right back at the start of the season.

But he's light years behind Clarke in possession, attacking impetus and athleticism. Clarke has deficiencies for sure and still has plenty to learn as a 21 year old but a lot of what he seems to get criticised for is a result of the structure of the way we play. The RB is the most exposed player on the pitch with Davis playing as a left winger and the whole back line having to shift across.

Bang on this! As much as it wasn't great defending, our midifeld looked well off the pace. The reason Clarke got sucked in was because he was drawn to midfield because we lost the ball there in the first place.

If the initial problem was dealt with, Wolfie isnt left in the one on one situation which isnt the strongest part of his game as it is.

The player who carried the ball the length of the pitch to score a great goal earlier in the season alone example is light years behind Clarke at attacking? Just because your preference is Clarke you don't have to spout nonsense. I like both players and think they are good rotation options. I also agree that most of the criticism of Clarke is unwarranted due to the reason you state. But that is not the case in this situation, he does get completely spun out of position. I don't think this excuses Wolf as he had ample opportunity to deal with what was clearly a threatening situation. And he just didnt.

When did Donacien carry the ball the length of the pitch to score a goal?

Can I be controversial and say I don’t think he done too much wrong- from the way I heard people raving I thought he had done a Tommy smith and let the ball bounce then got beaten to it by the striker. From repays it was just really good wing play and a very clinical finish.
The ball bounced high and wide of Wolfy more into the wba players path - he had slightly lower centre of gravity so managed to get slightly in front then his pace took him into a position when if Wolfy grabbed him or tripped him it was a straight red - the cutting inside and shot between the defenders legs to sneak in at the near post is what we have been missing for a few games as if it was one of our strikers it would have been blocked or hit 2 posts and a seagull then missed.
Just my views but as a former defender I would have been upset at myself but not to the degree that people made it sound like a horrendous error when it wasn’t
