Went in town for a post match pint, then walking home on Norwich Road, the Grimsby players bus pulled up and they got out and got food from the chip shop….. how times have changed
Just before the passback rule was introduced if I recall correctly. This was a game that highlighted how badly needed it was as all Grimsby did was pass it back to the keeper. Dreadful game.

Yep. Would've been our last but one game before the rule came in.
I was playing myself back then and it was noticeable how much more knackered I was during games when it came in. Much fewer breathers.
God nooooo that was an awful game Grimsby came for a point - they one one corner and two passes later it was nestled in their goalkeepers hands in the bad old days when keepers could hold to it forever seemingly. Grimsby were thoroughly, well Grimm.
The analogy holds generally though. There was a bit of a stutter in that run in before we finally put things to bed. In that season we of course won the title though and we very likely turned our back on that in the last 4 games.
