The agent only has to be confident that the Ipswich job is still his should everything else not come off. That being the case they are empowered to gamble on securing a better paid / higher profile job.

I’m absolutely shocked by a lot of the posts I’ve seen over the last day or two, people have absolutely lost their minds. Seen people saying they resent him, he’s tarnished his legacy and ruined his hard work over the last two years … absolute bedwetting lunacy!
It’s like people have completely forgotten where we were before he joined the club, and the 15 years of dreadful slow decline that went before that - McKenna has worked an absolute miracle as town manager yet some fans seem to think it’s an absolute betrayal to even attract interest from other clubs!
His only public comments were those at the LMA awards the other night, and he was typically calm and professional in how he answered the questions put to him. Not a lot more he could really say, to be fair. Everyone just needs to chill out, wait and see, and keep the faith that Ashton will have a plan for if the worst should happen. |  |
