I think he had bigger fish to fry in January but he didn't have a great end to the season so wonder if interest from the likes of Lazio and more established PL clubs has cooled. Expect Rooney will want to sign a few and Plymouth will have to fund that via a player sale.

He only signed permanently for Plymouth in the Summer previous so was at the club (contracted) about 6 months. Bit harsh to say he wouldn't be committed to the cause should he sign here. |
The new model is that we have a player fund and it is designed to make profit from sales that a re reinvested. It was how we funded Whittaker and Mumba so as with any of our players they are for sale if the profit is sufficient to allow us to reinvest and improve the squad.

He obviously wanted to come down to Argyle and has thrived. Our Chairman also has spoken of the clubs need to make sure that as and when we sell we do so with his interests in mind as well. Looking at the names we have been linked with I think there is a plan to bring in a young similar player and bring them on to replace him so I would say next season more likely than this for a sale. But if someone drops a silly number on the table then would we sell? absolutely if we can replace.

Also we went up with the championships 2nd best players based on league position. Don't think we want a load of championship players incoming 4 max. We need some top flight experience to help get us over the line. |

To get 27 goal contributions in a side fighting relegation, I would think you would need a good work rate. | |

As we have seen in the past, if a Prem club comes in, I suspect he would push for a move.
Allowing players to move on is also good for the model that you have. I suspect at 23 hes the right age to be getting max value. Especially after the season hes had. | |

Got some serious quality as a player, his goal record and assist record shows that and I thought at Portman Road earlier this season he was superb on and off the ball.
But at their place he looked disinterested, and the game passed him by.
Physically and athletically he has the attributes, technically he is good enough - just concerns over the mentality in terms of both decision making on the ball and in being a team player off the ball.
I certainly think he has it in him to be a PL player, but it's always a risk when someone hasn't shown what you need them to at one club to expect him to be able to do it at the next club. |  |

And I don't think mentality can be underestimated in a KMac team. Although we are incredibly fluid, we are reliant on the players inteligence to stick to the system when it comes to knowing when to press or drop in and cover, dependent on who else has gone to press.
Burns, Hirst and Chaplin are very effective at it so I am sure that will be a big factor when it comes to recruitment. |  | | |

I only watched 3 or 4 Plymouth games plus games against us Just people's views but Omari much better out of position than Whittaker then I was surprised when Villa bought Morgan Rogers from Middlesbrough for the type of money they paid who knows. | | | |

Unpopular opinion possibly but over time it could well be more of a Jack Clarke - Omari - Burns with Chaplin's role being reduced slightly.
That isn't a dig on Chaplin either - he's a great player and 'gets it' what McKenna asks of him in that role, but so does Burns and I think Burns will be quite important next season. He's hard to replace like for like which meant we had to switch up how we played a little bit when Omari was on the right. | |

He's done it consistently in the Championship for two seasons now. Not sure why Burnley explored other options last summer but he's got quality and would be a smart buy.
He's also an upgrade on Broadhead who himself will probably lack that athleticism in the Premier League but with his chance to show he can handle it, I'm here to be proven wrong as he's a gifted player technically. | |

He was a very selfish attacking player, basically playing with the defensive responsibility of a striker. In the modern game as we've proved, not being the striker doesn't make his stats more impressive when he was their main attacking focus. Which he definitely wouldn't be here and his defensive game doesn't stack up for what we will need. | | | |
