Surely if you wanna be historically correct ( not always the most important aspect of a gag I admit) you should have said, first we had small bands of hunter gatherers following large herds across the Great European Plain and occasionally reaching the British isles?

Well, he has been dead for about three years, so his research isn't entirely up to date.
