Philogene will decide future very soon. Ipswich, Palace, Everton all interested. Barca was a loan proposal only. This will be decided soon. Not August.

Recorded on playback for reference

Barca buy back after loan. Incredible stuff

Suspect it would be Hull which would make the decision, not the player!

According to Fab player has choice. I have recording if you want to PM Phil. Maybe you read it differently.

Was just thinking about the terms which are on offer, whether they'd turn down a fee immediately for a loan and money later down the line. If Barca are in for him and all's agreed with the club, then he's obviously going to go to Barca, wages-wise they'd be on a different planet.

Yes I would agree with that of course. I’d imagine Hull wouldn’t be so keen to wait a year without the player and no fee. Either way quite remarkable that Barca are in for a player we are bidding on.

Have you heard anything other than reports elsewhere? Today?

No, nothing new. I know we were interested in him last year so when his name came up it was little surprise, particularly as we hadn't filled that role on a permanent basis subsequently.

We have one thing Barca don't: McKenna. That will decide it for him surely?

Barca do have financial issues of their own hence why Hull might not want the loan with buy option as they might never get the money.

a niche perspective

Even just waiting for the money, Hull would presumably want to reinvest immediately as they look to win promotion.

We might get lucky with the timing.

Obviously if both our and Barcas offer is acceptable then he'll go there. But if Hull want the money now to reinvest we have a chance.

Ditto Greaves, other sides may be interested and can probably out offer us in terms of Prem stability at the moment but have other targets/sales that need to happen first.

Ironically i actually think the need for Greaves is larger but he wasn’t mentioned. Philogene would be an incredible signing in the LF role. Again watching his clips he can come from either side. Would leave us with Broadhead/Chaplin/Hutch/Philogene and Harness as 10s. Perhaps the latter to move on.

Barca are a financial car crash, even if they said we'll pay extra in time I wouldn't be too confident in getting it, a bird in the hand and all...

Don't spoil it!

Yes of course. But hypothetically if Barca suddenly got wind of the mighty Town involvement and matched our fee for a permanent.

I'm not sure that would matter, would it? Trying your arm at that level would appeal to anyone.

Does give us very good options in the three behind the striker, not forgetting Burns, of course, who I suspect could prove to be effective in the Premier League as we'll presumably have to counterattack a lot of the time. Agree that Harness will probably have to move on, wasn't making the bench in the latter stages of last season.

I agree. But accent see Hull ever agreeing to a loan to a buy. Won’t happen. Suspect if other interest player will choose from Prem clubs mentioned. Wouldn’t surprise me if currently we are only club to put money on the table. Think we are trying to get in early whilst the need of say (Everton) is unknown.
