Haven’t watched any of it, but it’s on at the moment, and just heard them talking about the atmosphere on centre court, and how the crowd could be the ‘12th man’… that doesn’t quite work for tennis, does it?
Wimbledon crowds tend to applaud everything. Bit silly that Centre Court doesn't start play until 1:30pm so that the corporate guzzlers (and royal box invitees) can finish their lunch first.

Ah yes. Something that I can’t stand about Wimbledon. A very well known person is picked out by the cameras sitting in the royal box. Cue the commentary “X loves their tennis”. Yep, they certainly do with their free ticket.

Yes, that drives me nuts too. I know it’s a sport for the elite and privileged but the BBC doesn’t have to continually focus on famous people and has beens. Who cares if a miserable old git of a golfer who last won a tournament 40 years ago like Sandy Lyle is in the crowd with a free ticket? What’s left of Dustin Hoffman was there yesterday looking like a corpse. Who on earth is interested? It’s no wonder the plebs can’t get in when they’re packing it out with the smug freeloaders.

Yet people can’t get tickets, and there’s absolutely loads of empty seats too!

Well known tennis buff Dave Grohl was in the box the other day, suited and booted. Far cry from Cliff Richard.

Wimbledon is the one time of the year that the Brits show any interest in tennis so the BBC are trying to interest the celeb-spotting casuals as they know that they outnumber the real tennis fans.

Don’t think it’s so elite and privileged any more - most places have free courts available these days?
Just heard that too, gutted, was looking forward to it!
Bet she doesn’t pull out of the singles with her “stiff wrist”, which would make her look pretty selfish.
I reckon she thought she'd have more time on her hands than it's turned out! At least Andy now bows out with his brother by his side I guess, and she'll now have to win the singles to make it up to us.

Do they? I thought it was largely for chinless rich people like that berk Henman. Can’t say I’m interested tbh. Didn’t enjoy playing it or watching it. Mrs C likes it though, so I endure. Add on the BBC love in with the gormless celebs and it’s no wonder my mood plunges.
Maybe England football will cheer me up in an hour. Then again……
