Philogene deal 22:02 - Jul 6 with 4976 views | Stu_boy | I'm slightly confused why all the talk is regarding philogene, why has there not been any real mention of greaves? Surely if we have been in discussions with philogene then hull would surely have allowed us to talk to greaves, yet no mention?
Philogene deal on 22:08 - Jul 6 with 4852 views | BloomBlue | Hull are probably waiting to see if Everton sell Branthwaite to ManU for silly money in the hope they will also offer silly money for Greaves as his replacement

Thing is how long do hull ultimately wait if it's supposed to be a double deal, wouldnt all the pieces need to fall simultaneously for a double deal to complete successfully
Philogene deal on 22:15 - Jul 6 with 4756 views | itfckenty | From what I gather (reading around) it's the agent. His the one pumping all of this and leaking stuff. Most likely half of it is true, all a ploy to get a higher fee e.c.t (we've been there) but judging by evertonians, they're interest is cooling off and he would be seen as a squad player. In terms of greaves, I'd say this one is more likely, usually the way we deal and silence speaks volumes.

I don't think it's a double deal in the sense of both or neither. Probably more of a case of us putting in a bid for each at the same time and then reporters calling in a double deal - if that makes sense. Ie if Philogene said no to us it wouldn't automatically mean Greaves isn't coming, he can still agree to move

Yep. Folk are interpreting a joint bid too literally. They would be two separate deals.

I suspect we'll generally miss out on players when it's us against established Premier League sides unfortunately. But it's possible that he sees he might play more regularly here than at the other clubs and sees Kieran as providing a big help in his development, so you never know.

With this is in mind, do we know if mikey johnson and carter vickers are alternatives as think they would be excellent additions and i've not heard them linked to as many clubs as greaves and philogene if we miss out on them

A 'double deal' simply we means we bid for 2 players from same team at the the same time. Not as if we can only buy both or none, both will have there own individual values

You said that about McKenna and Brighton. I don't buy that established Premier League club stuff, anyone outside top 6 can be relegated with one bad season.

Given who Greaves agent is, I am amazed we aren't getting a running commentary!

Came very close! And slightly different as he and his family already have ties to the club and the area. But I agree with the one bad season and you're down thing. However, we'd still look more likely than clubs who have been in the division for a while.

Adam Wharton was £18m, Archie Gray £40m. Personally I like the idea of getting the best young english talents in the country.

That’s the going rate though. If we hadn’t gone up what would you have valued Leif at?

Not heard Mikey Johnson being linked with us, but I think Carter-Vickers was dismissed.

Do you not think, looking impartially, that we're favourites to go down, along with the other promoted clubs? History does suggest so and we've largely a team which was playing in League One just over a year ago. You can see why players might look at that when making decisions. However, seems from the HDM that Philogene has been impressed by Town and Kieran McKenna, so we'll have to watch this space!
Philogene deal on 11:12 - Jul 7 with 1800 views | Hipsterectomy | With how precise and tight our spending needs to be, I hope the club are ready to move on when things get too ridiculous during negotiations. Especially as we probably need another 6 or 7 players of at least squad level quality, if not key player. I'm surprised the club are even continuing to deal with this guy given what vibes his agent is giving off. I'm sure if he does well here, his agent will be doing the same stuff next summer to move him on.

I do think hutch could be a crucial bit of business when it comes to attracting other quality signings. I've always believed quality attracts quality, once players can see evidence of the squad we want to and are assembling they'll be sold the project much easier. Statement signings arre indications we wont just be happy to participate but longer term we continue on our upward trajectory
